Ghost’s suit does not help her control her powers just makes it hurt less as it is more of a condition than a power. They are basing this off of the movie and she says clearly in the movie she does not need the suit and shows it. The suit is like squatting with a back belt, you can do it without the back belt, but it just feels better and is probably better for you to use the belt, simple as that. Ghost should be science, it was a science experiment gone wrong that gave her her powers and she does not whatsoever need her suit to do what she does. The only reason I’m not on the fence is because she doesn’t actually use the suit to fight, she uses her powers. Iron man uses his suit, stark spider man uses his suit, doc oc uses his arms, vision is a robot, ultron is a robot, characters who are tech actually use tech to fight and ghost doesn’t, she uses her powers. Characters that could go either way are the spider men and ant man/wasp but I don’t feel this can even hold an argument for her to be tech.
I'm not sure what some people consider science vs. technology. Technology is applied science.
Everything not magic is science. That includes Judo, which is applied physics. But when games make this distinction, it is usually the case that when there's obvious overlap between science and anything else (and there almost always is) the question that is asked is which half seems "more extraordinary." Punisher uses guns, and guns are technology, but that technology is not as extraordinary as his skills are. Conversely Iron Man's technology is, at least arguably, far more extraordinary when it comes to his combat abilities than the scientific principles behind the suit's mechanics. In the fiction of the comics or the movies, the only "extraordinary" science in the Iron Man suits is the arc reactor. The rest of the suit is, in the fictional universe it inhabits, obeying very conventional laws of physics.
Ant-Man uses a suit to control the Pym particles, so he has a tech suit and an advanced scientific principle giving him his abilities. The argument is that the scientific principles that govern the Pym particles' effects is the more "extraordinary" part of Ant-Man. It is of course still debatable, but that's at least the context of the debate. It isn't totally arbitrary, even if it is somewhat subjective.
In the case of Ghost, the balance between how important the extraordinary scientific principles behind her phasing are and how important her suit is to her combat capabilities specifically (which is what the game is concerned with) could go either way for me.
You're not wrong. Science encompasses just about everything. Even the Thor movies reference the fact that they seemingly mystical elements of Asgard are merely science that isn't yet understood. If you really felt like it, you could make a reasonable argument that all classes are science at their core. Mutation is an aspect of biology, which is a science. Terrigen mist is basically an extraterrestrial Super Soldier Serum for Inhumans...who are themselves the product of a science experiment conducted by an ancient alien race. Even all the mystical stuff in the Dr. Strange movie seems to be bound by rules and limitations not unlike various laws of physics; but people see it all as magic because the general public does not understand it...yet.
The fact that science is so all-encompassing is the reason I broke it down the way I did. I'd say the line between science and tech is blurrier than any other 2 classes in this game, hence the distinction that seems to gel with what champs are currently classed in most cases. Take away external accessories and see if the champ can perform what they do currently in the game.
Take away Rocket Boots and the Element Gun...Star Lord loses all of his specials.
Take away Iron Man's armor...Tony has no flight, no lasers, no protection.
Take away Doc Ock's arms...Just a chubby lab rat.
Take away Yondu's arrow/fin...no bleed, armor break, or projectile attacks
Without this stuff, they are all just normal individuals...relatively speaking.
Conversely, look at the science champs:
Take away Cap's shield...he still has high base stats and can reasonably stun a person.
Take away Spidey's web shooters...he's still super evasive and strong enough to break armor.
There's nothing to take away from Luke Cage...he's always got unbreakable skin and is very strong.
There's nothing to take away from Hulk...he's still one of the most powerful beings on Earth.
Apply this to the champs in questions.
Take away Ant Man, Wasp, or Yellowjacket suits...Scott, Hope, and Darren are pretty normal. This certainly fits the tech class.
Take away Ghost's suit...she can still turn invisible and intangible...so much so that she got the jump on Ant Man, Wasp, and Hank Pym enough to knock them out and tie restrain them. She is very capable without any tech. She's a science champ all the way.

Ghost herself said it helps her control it
If she could fight without it, why didnt she just go out and fight in her pj?
If she aint wearing the suit then it'd be easy to beat her if it hurts when she aint wearing the suit
So yea the suit helps control her power, making her effective in combat
