Corvus glaive immunity against electro’s static shock

I’m just wanting to clarify that glaives immunity isn’t suppose to protect him against electros static shock only regular shock? As it stands right now it deffinatly does not protect him against it.

I realize there isn’t any shock immune champs and maybe people haven’t noticed this one yet.

I would prefer his immunity’s description of shock immunity to be upheld and not receive any shock type damage!

Thanks for any input!

  • Static shock isn't a shock debuff, so it won't work with Corvus Glaive.
Forget how is it called, is just an ability that hurts you when you make contact with the enemy

It says you receive static shock of 38% energy damage, static shock being the debuff. Glaives immunity provides full immunity to shock Debuffs. The only other type of debuff that can be derived from electros description of when he gets hit would be “energy damage” which is 100% not a debuff type. Much like Limbo is energy damage but the debuff is called limbo.

Static shock is not a debuff
  • Exactly. Static shoch is not a debuff. You hit electro, you take energy damage. It has nothing to do with shock

Static shock is a comic book/game style name given to energy damage you take when hitting him. It’s instant, not a debuff.

Lady Thor, Iron man infinity units, etc. place shock debuffs that deal damage over time. Immunity would prevent these.

Just play bishop. He owns Electro

Maybe they should describe it as just “static” as there are no bleed immune champs that take bleed damage passively or not- nor poison immune champs that take poison champs- there should be no shock immune champs reviving damage from shocks or static shocks! End rant

The language in Electro's description is just come colorful commentary to describe a variation to Thorns damage he deals when getting hit. As others have pointed out, it's not a debuff but rather an instant reflective energy-based damage dealt when he gets hit.

So the community seems to be ok with a champion having the ability to not be shocked because of an immunity of some sort( not grounded or doesn’t interact with electrons marvelagically ) which Corvus glaive has.......unless it’s delivered by a instantaeous static shock from electro. That is nonsense and while I COMPLETELY agree that electros static shock is NOT a debuff, it by definition and common sensory would tell us that shocking something and dealing damage isn’t circumstantial or open for interpretation- you are either made of material immune to shock or you are not!

Why Corvus glaive would be immune to shock is a mystery, but as an immunity in this game there is a standard of understanding and reasoning ( dormmamu lacks blood so he can’t bleed) Corvus glaive with his properties warrant no interaction against SHOCK or STATIC SHOCK effects.

Two things could be taken from this post if a mod would like to chime in:

1: change electros text to eleiminate shock from the current static shock ability.

    2. Enforce Corvus glaives immunity to shock to include electros static shock ability.

    Enjoy!

And just for the fun factor of forums posting with you guys so nobody makes shock interpretations. Electro = electron= electron flow = electricity = conductor= shock= ouch

Shock at how bad the recent rock movie called skyscraper is not what marvel is using here.

You are overthinking get it. The name of the abilitynis static shock, but it deals energy damage. Not shock damage. There is no shock damage, shock just does energy damage. So does coldsnap, he can’t be made immune to energy damage or that would be insane,

Maybe they could rename it to Static Cling.

Stop trying to apply common sense and follow the logic established by the game -> your argument here falls flat. Iceman should be immune to coldsnap but isn't for balance. Immunities come in different shape and sizes for balance. Some have full immunities while others have partial. Corvus wasn't the first to have a limited immunity (Vulture is one coming to mind who is also immune to only debuffs of incenerate), nor would I expect him to be last. If text/game limits it to debuffs only, it's for balance and not necessarily for logical sense. You can't argue his limitation is new.

Iceman description doesn’t say he’s immune to cold snap so that’s has no relevance to this discussion. Vulture is immune to incinerate debuffs but not the passive ones so why are we bringing that up also. You have to remember the source of this discussion and realize it’s about how things are written in the descriptions and why they should be changed.

If they add a 6-star Electro to the game, I might take your side but a 4-star Electro needs every advantage he can get.
