Glitch: Defender can initiate an attack while attacker is mid combo

I have recently noticed a glitch where the defender is able to initial a special attack while I am actively performing a combo (usually 3 hit of combo). The defenders typically will activate a special 3. This is not an intercept because I have repeatedly attempted to do it as an attacker and cannot. Others in my alliance are experiencing the same issue.
- I am using an iPhone 6s with software version 11.4.1
- AT&T is my carrier and it happens both on wifi and over cellular
- I running the latest MCOC update, version 19.0.1
- I was not using any boosts and the champion I am using doesn't matter...it has happened with multiple champions.
- I have experienced this glitch in every mode of the game and it is not specifically with a power gain champ like Hyperion or Thor Ragnarok. Neither if in AW on a power gain node. It just randomly happens.
- I have been unsuccessful capturing a video of it happening because it happens so randomly.
