Occasionally, I have taken the wrong route in quests, such as brushing a node that I had already taken. It would be nice if it were possible to backtrack and take another path. Taking the wrong path would then still have an energy cost, but it wouldn't be necessary to reset the level.
In order to force irreversibility in some contexts, teleports could be an exception. If node or reward 'farming' is an issue, these could be undone with a backtrack, but hit points lost remain lost.
