Why is Void so good?

I've been seeing a lot of support for ranking up void both on this forum and on reddit, especially if he's awakened. I was wondering if anyone else had this opinion, and if so, why? I have a 4* 4/40 void at sig level 25 and I personally find him overwhelmingly average.
Some of the problems I have with him are based on the fact that most fights I do are relatively short and so "burst damage" and utility is better. For instance, having 2 power and heal block debuffs is great if you're fighting a high PI wolverine, but is useless in countering hyperion since he will most likely have 3 bars of power before you can get both power reduction debuffs on him. The same goes for evade reduction against classic spidey and NC.
Maybe someone can give me some insight into why he's so good?
Thanks!

Unavoidable damage every 10 seconds.
He destroys buffet and masochism and regen nodes in general.
He has immunities.
His debuffs are Lit. Just read his abilities.
He is GOD tier!!!
He reverses regen like crazy. Auto kills galore.
He is awesome for long, big fights which is usually where the problem is. Once you get fotv , regen/power gain reversal on, the fight is over.
Source - Have a 5/50 Void.
I think you're wrong about Hyperion. I just finished a Tier 2 war with Hyperion on each of the 2 mini boss nodes I faced. Void crushed both of them. Sure, there's a bit of RNG involved, but if you can place a single petrify debuff, the power gain becomes VERY manageable. Get a second, and the power gain buff becomes completely useless. At this point, the fight is completely in Void's control and Hyperion becomes just another champ to mow down.
Void is a bit like Star Lord and Proxima Midnight...he's a champion that won't hit hard right out of the gate but his damage scales dramatically as the length of the fight increases.
I don't know where you are in the game, but once you get to Act 5, most of the fights become much longer than your standard arena fight. Toward the beginning, you'll likely only see the first few debuffs pop up before taking down an enemy, but in the later stages of Act 5, you'll see Fear of the Void trigger a lot, which is where Void starts doing serious damage.
Void is an Alliance War Attack stud, able to handle many situations. I see lots of Spidey and Nightcrawler on stun immune nodes. Void reduces their chance to evade, making them much less squirrely. Void reverses healing, completely shutting down Vigor, Masochism, Buffet, Arc Overload, or Recovery nodes which are becoming more prevalent. Void can reverse power gain, meaning power gain buffs, strike back nodes, and mystic dispersion are way less of a worry. Finally, the Intimidating Presence debuffs apply constant damage, meaning you're less likely to time out against champs who require a lot of waiting...think Medusa (with Living Strands) or IMIW (with 4 Armors).
Void's biggest weakness is Kingpin, who isn't a super popular defender/enemy you'll come up against. No other champ to date can effectively shut Void down. Agent Venom tries, but eventually the IP debuffs will stick. The debuffs are permanent, so people like Rogue can't shrug them off quickly. And the damage is direct, so no champ is immune once they're placed (save for short periods of invulnerability like Indestructible).
He's science so he's got a class advantage over some of the worst defenders to fight like Dormammu, Magik, and Mephisto. Void is incinerate immune too, so he eats Mephisto for breakfast. And Void's health pool is very large, so Limbo and Soul Leech aren't as punishing as they are for other champs.
And if all that weren't enough, they gave him some sustainability via a synergy with Killmonger, who is another fantastic champ.
I finished LOL about a month ago using Void for most of my fights. He doesn't have the highest damage output in the game, but his constant damage application coupled with his extreme versatility make him a top tier champ in every sense of the word.
YOu're right, not a lot of up front burst damage, but amazing long term damage and utility. Duped and with some Despair can end RoL wolvie in a minute or two and without the tricky timing needed for Guilly to do it.
A picture says more than 1000 words. By the way this is done with the 4 star too.
I use mine on offense and it's great. Used him to solo AQ map 4 miniboss mordo. He's not so good on defense as opponents can just get 10 hits in to remove his debuffs.
