Game Performance Inconsistency

Hey all, i was just wondering is it just me or does the game sometimes run super smoothly and once i re-enter the game it becomes laggy again. Asking as considering upgrading my phone as gameplay is very laggy at most times

I use a Samsung Galaxy S8
