How exactly aw matchamikg works? Cause we are facing everytime alliances way bigger than ours

I am in an gold3 alliance, tier6 with 5,58 million rating and average member rating: 186k. We have only 3 people with rank 4 5star champions, nothing bigger
Last 5 aw we are facing 8 / 9 / 10 million rating allainces with powerfull attackers and defenders and we have absolute no chance at winning. i will post some screenshots of our current matchamking. Is this how supposed aw works, so we will lose till we get down at tier 12?

It has nothing to do with alliance rating. It is a ladder system based on war rating. You win you get a higher
War rating and get matched up with an alliance with similar war rating.

1444 compared to 1470 is a fair match in a ladder system.

Here's a fun thing to do for perspective:
    1) go to alliance wars season page
    2) click on view leader board
    3) select, say, silver 2 tier
    4) click on any number of the top alliances there

You'll find alliances way stronger, some with better war ratings than yours. You'll also see alliances with terrible ratings and 8 or fewer members.

Lesson 1: you match by war rating in the tier you're in, irregardless of alli strength
Lesson 2: if you're in over your head at a tier, you'll drop out of that tier soon enough and level out where you should be which, in this case, probably isn't gold level.

The reality is that you guys probably went on a nice winning streak and or got faced with some easy fights and are getting matched up with alliances on a losing streak, faced with difficult fight or had members dropped out. There are numerous reasons why an alliance may have a lower rating than they could. A ladder competition will balance the amount of wins vs losses.
