Weird kick for Deadpool and wolverine

Is it just me or does the second swipe kick have them float to the ground it bugs me and it used to not do this has this been addressed before

It's basically done so that you can chain straight into a special without waiting

Before, you had to launch the medium and wait until it physically connected before you could press the special button, but now you launch the medium and spam the special and they would connect
