Falcon benefits

Denslo500Denslo500 Member Posts: 905 ★★★
I am writing this for new players who get Falcon.

Who is he good against?
Every opponent that is
1) Hard to hit (M.O.D.O.K. , Medusa, IW Iron Man, Nightcrawler, Black Widow, all Spider-Men, etc.)
2) Causes damage to you when you hit them. (Abomination, etc)
3) Maybe, Thorns nodes in Act 4. (Supposedly, he takes no damage while his Lock On is active. I haven't gotten there yet, so I cannot confirm. The Forums indicate that the Thorns section is one of the hardest in the game and requires substantial resources and planning to negotiate.)

Basically, every opponent you are screaming at, because you can't touch them, and they are killing you.
(M.O.D.O.K. is particularly interesting, because he loses his autoblock AND HIS SHIELDS. I just walk up and pound him.)

Other benefits
1) Physical Resistance with each synergy is a strong benefit.

Why is he hated?
1) The same reason defenders in sports don't get any love. Great defensive effects are hard to see and appreciate.

So don't be mad if you pull him. He can walk through some of the toughest opponents in the game.

People can still be mad, because Falcon is/never will be the BEST option for those things, Blade walks through MODOK, and I’m not even one of the blade preachers, but...Falcon doesn’t have anything hes the best at, therefore he’s...just bad, underwhelming damage, utility that exists but is weak compared to other options, sure, if you have to choose between collosus and Falcon, choose Falcon, but if you have almost anyone else, unless it’s a very specific scenario like an Abomination with an auto block that will let you swipe back and hold for two seconds, then why ever bother?
I get the point of this post tho, this is totally just my view

I don't like using God tier champs as counter arguments, because EVERYONE would prefer to use them if they had them.
However, new players aren't going to have that option.
To that end, I have picked up some new champs lately that support your argument.
Agent Venom: full time 50% passive evade reduction with an additional 30% option. Similar moves and specials as Falcon, but lots of bonuses and has a strong PASSIVE Debuf.
Cap Amer IW: can get 100% defensive ability accuracy reduction, PLUS more bonuses than I can list. (although he is god tier now)
They are also making a large number of True Strike characters that bypass physical resistance, so his synergy bonus is fading.

Kabam could easily make Falcon's defensive ability accuracy reduction a constant PASSIVE and he would still be way behind the new characters in power.
Maybe give him up to 100% Physical Resistance (make that his Signature Ability) that would activate with the jump back and block for 2 seconds.
    And add Taunt.
    No change in offense.
    He can suffer from bleed/poison/degeneration/cold/incineration
I think that would make him vastly more interesting.

After exploring Act 5, I myself would never take Falcon anywhere in Act 5. There would just be too much block damage

If they made falcon's 100% ability accuracy reduction a permanent passive, he would be WAY stronger and everyone would probably be using him over killmonger if we DO NOT COUNT SYNERGIES. Cause its practically a permanent true strike except that his damage can still be reduced by armor.

but then he will just become pre 12.0 Black Widow

Early on (pre-Blade), I pulled and duped a 4* Falcon. I took him to 4/40 and he was on my AW attack team. He was my secret weapon against Magik, who was EVERYWHERE at the time (Arena, Quests, and War). Once locked on, she no longer triggers Limbo. That 4/40 Falcon took out 4/55 Magiks like it was nothing.

While he has good synergies, his damage output and utility was pretty low, even back then. Before long, he was phased out of the team. But he does well as a Magik counter.

They need to tweak Falcon and he'll be amazing. 4 things need to be done.

1: Increase the Lock on time at least doubled (at LEAST 20 seconds).

    2. Reduce the cooldown on it

    3. IF you wanna let him keep that 2 seconds dash back then give him a 50% perfect block chance while in that 2 seconds or a higher block pro.
3b. Just reduce it to 1 second instead or even at least 1.5. That two seconds feels like 5.

    4. Give the man just alittle more damage, nothing crazy but make his SP2 do more damage on crits and give the SP1 Bleed a better number.

I like these ideas. Falcon is underrated, but he's still pretty weak. He's also seriously lacking in synergies from the various Captain America's.
