Does exploration affect alliance quest scoring? or is it just for the crystal?

ive been playing this game for a long time, but not sure the answer on this. Does leaving 1 node on the map reduce your score at all or is it solely for the map crystal?

I'm fairly sure it doesn't affect the score, just the crystal
