Zero gold for rank up gems

Just explored chapter 1 of variant 2 and I got a 3-4 Mystic rank up gem for 2015 champs. It says zero gold on the rank up but I’m pretty sure it used to cost gold. Has this changed or am I just behind times lol

    V1 and V2 = 2015 gems = 0 gold

    V3 = 2015-2016 gems = normal rank up cost

    to clairify one more point, the 2015 gems require you to have the gold, but does not use it, unless that was changed.
