Variant 4 Electro and Human Torch Interaction/Bug

The crackling energy node says that you take degeneration for contact with Electro. In Human Torch's in game description it says that all basic attacks make no physical contact. However in this fight every hit he takes damage. Is this a bug or is my thinking wrong on this?

    human torch attacks are energy contact

    All attacks have to make some kind of contact though. IMIW first medium and second light are plasma attacks and don't cause degen, but still technically make contact with Electro.

    Can you show a screen shot of the in game description you mention ?
    I don't have Human torch, so can't verify in game, however, Aunt.mai has no such description, only the claim "All attacks are energy, instead of physical".

    I take it back. I am just dumb and read the description wrong. My fault. It says the deal energy damage and not physical damage. I inserted the contact part in my head I guess.

    no, they don't make contact, you can't parry repulsor attacks and that's the simplest way to know whether or not the attack makes contact
