What’s the best way to use OR without suicides?

Just curious about the rotation others use with him. I’m having trouble keeping the spores whilst baiting specials.
When i actually have degen on them, they dont want to throw off their specials, and a lot of times im holding block just to stay close to them while they use their specials (after degen expires).
Should I just try to always do a heavy before enemy reaches a bar of power to be on the safe side?

Personally I rarely touch OR when I have suicides off, but if I were to, I'd likely follow the same general rotation as running suicides.
Which would be start the fight > Parry, wait until stun almost falls off, 5-hit combo to another parry. Hold and wait, throw heavy right before stun falls off.
Keep minimum 10 spores up by following that similar rotation. Obviously specific matchups, defenders, nodes and synergies will all impact this difference.
Only use Sp2s for 90% of the specials thrown.
The other part of the time is SP1 for a little Regen or to end the fight with some Regen, or seldomly an SP3 because I failed to pull off an SP2 lol.
That's just my personal input though
Thanks ill try that, you don’t do the sp2 after the first hit of the heavy (like cap)? To take advantage of the degen
And yeah he kinda needs suicides, but I know people that maxed him without them. He’s still pretty good without them, my next best mutant is havok. I’m just trying to decide if I should dump my generic sig stones into him if I cant fully play him that well yet or wait for when I pull/dupe Aegon.
Btw while we’re on the topic, how do you use OR fighting a stun immune champion? I can’t seem to get the heavy off except with heavy baiting, and the spores tend to fall off in that case
But often I'll honestly prefer to go the other route, sp2 in the corner, then Parry/wait for stun to nearly fall off/then hit the heavy attack.
It helps maximize the spore stacking. If you do heavy directly to sp2, good chances that'll push them over a bar of power, then push you back (or you dex back) to avoid the special. Also during this whole time the degen is ticking down, giving you a smaller window to reapply it.
Whereas sp2 to Parry to heavy means you have at least the time of the sp2 animation duration on the degen that you didn't have before, giving you more time to bait, dex, or block (get pushed back) from their special attack
