So, this may be a rather obvious answer but I wanted to hear community thoughts before I pulled the trigger.

I have three 5 stars at Rank 5 (Aegon, Quake, and Venom the Duck).

My main questing roster is:

5/65 Awakened Aegon
5/65 Awakened Quake
5 star, Rank 4 Nick Fury
Heimdall/Thor Synergy

I use Venom the Duck as my primary champ for AQ.

I have the ability to take my 5 Star Nick Fury to Rank 5. Since Nick Fury is on my main questing roster, it would make since because I’d have three maxed champions for regular questing.

However, while Aegon, Quake, and Nick are all debuff immune (in their own special circumstances), none of these champs are actually debuff immune.

My goals are to fully explore Variant 3-1 and start on exploration of 6.1.

Would it make more sense for me to hold my resources and wait for a powerful double immune champ (like Omega Red) or simply max Nick Fury now?

Advice from advanced players is always appreciated.

While a diverse roster is important, you’re overthinking this - take Nick Fury to Rank 5 and enjoy the ride

Hold onto your resources for the chance to take a good debuff champion to Rank 5 in the future (like Warlock or Omega Red)

Especially if your Fury is duped, it’s not like you’d regret ranking him in the long run. I’m not a big believer in waiting for specific champs, because there are so many stories online of people who can’t pull their favorite champ to save their life.

It would help knowing your other options currently though. Variant 3 requires tech champs. Do you have any of those you are considering ranking?

    Assuming he’s duped

What is the rest of your roster? Is nick awakened?

Yes - he’s awakened. The only other rank 4 champions I have as 5 stars are Wasp, SE Spiderman, and Angela. I could rank 4 my Iceman, Visom, Omega Red, and Sentinel (all unawakened) but then I’d have to wait a couple months to gather the resources to take one of them to Rank 5.

This one is easily nick. My 5/65 shreds pretty much everything that bleeds

Difficult question, I was tempted to pick option one, but I totally get option 2.

This game is so diverse in nodes and champions that it is no longer possible to narrow your roster to a few good champions. If you don't have a good counter, or at sufficient rank, you're screwed.

Bet hedging is my tactic now: I rank more champions so I have different counters for different situations.

Having rank 4 OR, Iceman, Sentinel and Venom (?) is important as well. It is a slower path but ranking up more champions will pay off.
