Where to use Awakening gems

Hi. I explored 5.3 and 5.4 and now I am going to get Elders Bane. 5.3 and 5.4 gave me Cosmic and Skill AG-s, and act exploration will give a generic one. Also I have completed 6.1.

Heres my roster:





Now I have 3 questions:
  1. For most mystics I use Cap (he's sig 50ish) and I am planning to rank up Human torch as well. Generally my Science roster is very good, so I can't say I need strong Science champ here and now. Probably Void is the worthiest champ to awaken I have, but is he worth generic gem considering my roster? Is he useful in act 6 or variants?
  2. There are skill champs that require awakening gem, but I may never get 'em. I think Squirrel Girl benefits from her sig ability. I enjoy playing her in aq-aw, but I'm not sure she's that good in act 6. Should I give Skill gem to her, or should I wait for Nick or Aegon?
  3. My only ranked up cosmic is Venom: I have him at R4. I'm not sure about his sig ability. Does he benefit from that buffs alot, or it's just a little quicker ramp up? Maybe I should give the cosmic gem to Surfer? I enjoy playing him too, he just dropped few days ago and I don't have the resources to rank him yet. Or maybe I should wait for someone like CMM or Hype?
I'll go for the Tech/Cosmic crystals till I get more good tech champs (Now I have only Nebula), and then I'll go for Mutant/Skill bc I don't have solid skill champs either, so there's very low chance that I'll get Void duped naturally soon.

My plan is to go further in act 6 when it get's nerfed. I tried variants too and completed some quests, so ideally I need to make a decisions that will help in Variants and/or in act 6.

    None.. Save it.. There are lot better champs to use awakening gem

    Save them for better ones
    Especially skill NF or Ægon would benefit it a lot more I believe

    Void is very worthy of a generic. It's always good to have somebody like him ranked up, as nobody has the kind of well-rounded utility he's got. In variants, there are some paths that void is the best option for, with the second best being far behind! He's very useful in abyss, he's still very useful in act 6 as well.

    Just save it generics are still very valuable than class ones

    Ghost is better you only have one skill so eventually you might pull both nf and Ægon so you can use on skill on either and the other the gen
    Corvis sig helps immensely against dot like in AQ degen and poison nodes
    There are lots of others

    Don’t be too eager just because you have it void is great but gen worthy on the lowered end since it generally depends on your roster
