    Working as intended, I believe the v1 rank up gems don’t cost gold.

    OP is right though, if that Class 4* 3–4 gem is from these ton of recent Solo Objectives this month. And his isn’t a Variant gem (not as a 4* ?)

    Checked all of mine I have (generic 3* 3–4, class 4* 3–4, and generic 5* 1–2), and all of them were costing gold to use.

    Wonder why his isn’t costing gold, unless it is from some other previous event and not this month's objectives.
