Cornered Opponents Ignoring Attacks

I just got done playing an arena and two of these scenarios happened:
Gambit R3 5 star vs. Gwenpool (Kang's Team), I used his L1 and the first part of Gambit's special connected and the second part that stuns was completely ignored and Gwenpool attacked me back.
Wolverine R5 4 star vs. Medusa (Kang's Team), was in middle of a combo and cornered Medusa for all of a sudden to have automatic blocking mid-combo.
Clearly these are bugs and it almost cost me my streak. Someone please address this ASAP.

Gwen seems to be a bug though.
