My Team for John Mulaney Challenge

Hey all,

I just wanted to post my team and results for completing the John Mulaney Challenge. I was able to complete it without spending units, using 9 revives and potion reserves from about 100 cavalier 4-hour crystals. I'm Cavalier as of 3 months.

My team consisted of:
Cap IW 5*R5
Quake 5*R5
AA 5*R5 (took him up for this!)
Guillotine 2099 6*R2
Nick Fury 4*R5

I used this team in the following way:

Howard the Duck and Gwenpool: Archangel cleared every fight. Neurotoxins shut everything down. My AA is sig 111. 2 revives.

Warlock: Quake using Dex method. performed very well. The last Warlock finally tagged me. 1 revive.

Deadpool: Cap IW using tech synergy and despair mastery for reverse healing; nullify unstoppable. Very straightforward with Cap. 1 revive.

Mysterio: Definitely the hardest. Cap IW for every fight except one where I finished him with Quake. Skill synergy purified all the poisons. Parry-heavy til the eventually died. Block proficiency was huge.

Spiderham: AA melted him on the first go. Super easy with Neurotoxins.

Looking back, I would have brought another tech like Iron Man IW to support Cap more. I'm not good enough her with G2099 yet to have made use of her. Or my 4* Guardian to increase team block proficiency.

But it all worked out. Got most of my catalysts back on the AA rank up (well worth it! So in love haha).

And then pulled Corvus from the Nexus! Woot!

Forget about the 6* Red Skull haha. Happy day.

Thanks for all your help. Hopefully this helps somebody.

Thanks for the post! I’m considering making a run at this and am intimidated. I have the same champs as you, besides g2099. I was thinking about using an Aegon team, but yours looks more fun. I might go for it and replace g2099 with Warlock for the synergy. Congrats on that Corvus pull!!

Thank you! Warlock would be a very solid choice I think. If only I had one. Go for it!

Just a suggestion, spare urself the resources and don't take up that corvus. WITHOUT suicides (emphasis on that for all the people who will prob dislike this) he is terrible except for aq, and Cap marvel works way better for aq. My r5 has 0 use in act 6 or cav difficulty or any endgame content. Take up ur nick instead, you could prob clear a lot of act 6 with ur current team.

Thanks for the tip. I've had an Omega Red sitting idle for a while because I don't run suicides. Now that I have Corvus and a few other suicide friendly pieces I might have to finally commit to it.

Same team as me all 5/65. Although, Hyperion instead of beardo. Spent 8 revives. Used AA for gwenpool, Quake for Warlock, Hype for mysterio, and g99 for everybody else.

Btw, get AA to sig 112 😉

Don't know why people think OR is not good without suicides. I don't have them unlocked and he clears content well enough. His damage is still insane without suicides.

OP, thanks for the write up. I am considering a similar team, but have a question about Nick.

It seems you didn't use NF for fights. Was the NF+Quake synergy beneficial for the entire run, or can I replace Nick with someone else?

I think you just have to weigh the benefit of another champ against the risk of getting hit.

If you go with Cap IW as a main part of the team you definitely want to have a skill champ so that he can purify debuffs. Imperative against Mysterio's poison. Looking at my skill options I just didn't see myself using Blade/Stealthy/Hit Monkey enough to outweigh the luxury of the evade charges and 10% champion attack boost from Fury.

That Mysterio toward the end throws a lot of quick, random heavies. Evade probably saved me a couple revives.

That is very much the team I will be using, replacing Quake with CMM. What do u mean by bring another tech to support Cap?

I was excited, finished this challenge unitless and was looking forward to the opening. Then I got this...
