Dr doom vs dragonman

TreoTreo Member Posts: 403 ★★
I just fought dragonman with dr doom in event quest map 3.2 uncollected.

I staggered him but didn’t get his power gain buff.

I feel I am missing some interactions
I understand dragonman loses his power gain buff when stunned... that’s not dr doom removing it ...

I wonder if this is a bug or intended interaction.
(Stagger > prevents power gain > dr doom not getting powergain buff). The parry removal not benefitting dr doom I do get.

I get how airwalker works he has a different buf (power cosmic) with the different icon

The icon from dragonman is the same as power gain buff ... that feels more like dr voodoo his spirit venom (posion immune also don’t get spirit venom) same icon > same interaction
    Different icon > different interaction

Maybe it’s too basic ... but it is not exactly that what the icons are for... ? If they want a different interaction either state it in the profile of the champ or change the icon so we know it’s different ?

because dragon man technically doesn’t have a power gain buff, he has a power charge buff

    @SpideyFunko @slacker

So with that reasoning dr voodoo is bugged because he does not put spirit venom on for example hulk or Hyperion ?

I mean either the icon on dragonman is wrong (and maybe should be the same as power cosmic if they want different types of power gain buffs) or the interaction

I find it very confusing to have same icons for different abilities. If that’s the conclusion than that has to be worked on ... I didn’t make this so the interaction is changed ... it can be textual or icon or anything...

But currently it not how it should be imho

doctor voodoo isn’t bugged. Spirit Venom is poison, and hulk and Hyperion are poison immune

Exactly so with dr voodoo you think it should be like this ... different name > same icon > same interaction.
    But for dragonman you think
Different name > same icon > No different interaction

Those 2 are completely comparable to me ... I really don’t see the difference between the two or why in one case one way of thinking should be aplied and in exactly the same situation the opposite ... that’s the point

No, because in Voodoo’s description in says Spirit Venom is a poison.

    I don’t get it really I don’t

If it’s different ... it needs a different icon.

Where's the confusion about Dr. Voodoo? It says in his abilities it applies a poison not a spirit venom.

Let’s forget about voodoo I tried to give another example I might been wrong with the example

If it’s a different ability with different interactions ... why use the same icon.. it seems that a different icon is only logical

Maybe dr strange is a better example for different names same interactions ?

But I should not be needing to give examples of where it works in a similar way as I think it should work.

But can you guys please provide me if an example where it works like you guys say

So same icon - different name - different interactions and that is how it should be example of a champion

Is it just me that sees a world or problems behind this?

If this is normal and how it should be ... all buffs can be renamed > keeping the same icon > but different interactions where does it end ?

He has to be staggered when he goes to reactivate it

    @Haji_Saab

I really don’t know how to get my point across. That is not what I am trying to say that doom needs to interact a certain way.

I fully accept doom not stealing power buff from dragonman

But how it is now he should.
It’s not passive it’s active buff
kabam could change the buff icon to passive or create aa new one > problem solved

That’s such a small change to keep things logical ...

All I want to get under attention is that if a ability gets a buff or debuff icon ... al those icons need to interact in the same way unless stated otherwise.
Giving the exact same icon a different name should not change how it interacts. If they want different interactions > different icon needed ...

I know it’s a uphill battle to keep consistency but the game has become so incredibly diverse i need some consistency the keep understanding what is what and how things interact. If the same icon means something different at a different champ ... then why even bother having icons in the first place.

It should be a power gain buff... It has no difference in its appearance or mechanics. If Kabam started to change terms like bleed damage > wound damage (just an example) and bleed immunes can’t counter it even though it has the same properties and icon no one would know if that’s intentional or should be countered. The game has to stay consistent with the buffs to icons they have. Dragon Man should have a power gain buff.
