Why keep playing after reaching a Cavalier?

I keep playing cuz as of now, I always have something to achieve in the game, whether it's collecting champs or reaching the thronebreaker milestone. Also, I find most games on the play store to be extremely boring and repetitive. As Crcrcrc said, this is a one of kind game. It's the only game that has kept me consistently coming back for more.

    Hey guys,

I have been playing this game for 4 years. I reached the title of Cavalier a while ago, pulled about (7) 6 stars, including a duped Ghost. I do the event quests fully explored on uncolllected every month and stay active in AQ and AW to get an inch closer to leveling up my 5 stars. Rinse and repeat.

Why do end game players continue to play? I am a fairly decent player at fighting, but the content for end game players is tough enough to spend a few units or revives on the Cavalier path. Originally I enjoyed collecting the characters, but the only ones I seem to not have right now are Goldpool and Platpool.

I'm debating on resigning from the game. I just wanted everyones insight as to why you continue to play? Maybe your thoughts will help me make a clear decision.

Let me preface this by saying I am not at your progression level yet, so I am not seeing things from the same perspective.

Maybe take a break from the game and see if you miss it. Years ago I took a break for about 6 months (I started playing a month or so after the game first came out). It took some time, but I did end up missing it and came back. Just saying, find out if you like this game...or just keep playing out of habit.

If you dont have too much fun with the game then eighter skip a month or 2 or just go allianceless.

I did this war season a pause. Game is much more enjoyable without an alliance sometimes.

Once you get enough R5/R2 champs even cavalier difficultly isnt that big of a challenge aside from a boss here and there since special champs like Luke Cage or Doch Oc destroy entire chapters. Its pretty fun for me at least.

I always let units pile up for big content like act 6/7 or AoL. Once I have enough I do it.

Also my alliance are pretty cool guys so its fun chatting with them :)

I keep playing because of ppl I've met along the way and I still find the game a fun way to spend some time. I'm in a retirement ally with ppl from my first serious ally from years ago, but we have another Line group of guys who've gone to other allys but we still shoot the sh*t on the regular.

I don't do much AW and only low-level AQ, but that's what's allowed me to complete Abyss and 100% Act 7 and reach Thronebreaker. I've conceded the fact I'll never be that great a player, but I make up for it with arena grinding and pluckiness.

I've tried other games and still play some here and there, but MCoC is my main game. But I'll never go back to serious AQ or AW, it's just too much time commitment.

    The game changed.
You used to always begin then next Rarity of character at the end of each Story section.
Act 6 began the change. By the end, you couldn't even take a 6 star past rank 2/3. You still can't go past rank 3. Individual champ progression has been at a standstill for some time.

If you need a low stress alliance, look me up. Nothing is mandatory. Play what you want.

You have a hard time in cav difficulty with rank 5 s and rank 2s? It took you four years to become Cavalier? That's below average skills I would say.

If you.must know, my first two years i didnt really get into progression much. I became uncollected and cavalier within a 4 month span after that. Ive been AQ or AW top 3 multiple times in a level 1300 silver 3 squad.

Not like i gotta prove anything to you, but a comment like that has nothing to do with the post. Everyone plays at their own pace. When i became a cav i didnt even have a 6 star or any 5 star at 4/55 besides iceman.

Thats a great suggestion that im gunna go with. I think going allianceless will help me get back in the groove of things that I loved this game for. Itll let me move at my own pace.

I only have one R5 character atm so i guess i have some time to go.

I had this same mindset a while back, then realized there was no other mobile game anywhere near this quality with iconic characters. None. This game is one of a kind and incredible.

This game is one of a kind. I started playing when the Marvel movie and TV momentum was at its peak. I think this pandemic has affected that aspect as well.

The only other mobile game i thoroughly enjoy is Genshin Impact, which i could crossplay on PC. Exploration is the high point for that game that gives a different vibe than MCOC.

It's a strange thing for me, I think it's based on investment; for some people that's money, for others it's time but, either way unless you are amazingly talented / lucky from the get go, you have to invest in the game to progress.

Once you've invested beyond a certain point, it starts to feel like you don't want to just throw that away but, when you think of GTA or some other console game that you've spent hours on to beat the game, are you going back to it?

The convenience of picking up the phone and playing is also something that draws me in, switching on consoles isn't hard but, the phone is easy to pick up and put down as and when I want to / can.

I've also started playing Genshin Impact like @Championa10 and have found that to be a very good and immersive game, I've tried a fair few over the years and have only really stuck with MCOC but, maybe Genshin will keep my attention.

Exactly. Genshin is equally immersive to MCOC if not more. And demanding for the daily tasks as well. The time investment has caught up to me. Departing from my alliance will at least lighten the load to let me play at my own pace

I like the way you play @DNA3000

I play somewhat similar to that. Go at my own pace unless I start falling behind the curve.

Leaving an alliance or going to a super laid back alliance with minimal investment required can make a huge difference. I used to stress so much playing with an active alliance, but leaving was very freeing. Now I just go in and do whatever I want, whenever I want, and with any champ I want.

I also try not try stress getting every last scrap of rewards I can. Shoot for the big rewards each month, and any extra smaller rewards is just based on how grindy I'm feeling haha.

Edit: Didn't mean to tag you DNA. That was a draft I forgot about lol..
