Lose all expectation. Spin. Say something like "I don't care whoever I pull but I'll appreciate an Apocalypse". If it lands on someone oyu don't want, then it's alright, move one. If it lands on a good one, then it will feel waaay better. This actually worked for me for Doom, Apocalypse, Corvus, and more. It doesn't work for Ghost and Nick Fury though. Lol.
I personally prefer the Dreamin method, where I just get what I want.
What's it all about? I just pop all of them, to save myself from ridiculous rolls. I spin, I'm cursed for sure to see a Nick it Doom nearby and it lands on ultron.
I find I like my crystal openings better when I remove all expectations, close my eyes, and pop them. That 6* IP still hurt, but it would've hurt more if I had hope...
I got amazing pullls like 6* Corvus and 6* Claire Voyant ( in main account) using the Pep1000 method, lately doesnt really work anymore for me, i got great pulls when i dont expect nothing, when i really want a specific champ i never get it anyway, so spect nothing and If you got a good champ great if not just rinse and repeat.
It used to be to have my girlfriend open them...but now we both have some mixed luck. Sometimes I count to 8 Mississippi and then stop the spin. Got me a 6* SG from the shattered heart cav today.
I get pretty decent luck on normal crystals, so there’s not much of a method. If you’re talking cavs though, I just give up on all hope I’ll get something good but still have a small chunk of excitement when I see a good 5*/6* pop up
Crystals I pop, then cover the screen qith my hand and slowly uncover what it is (so I know if its dupp first).
As for my expectations, I always hope. I don't count with getting sth good, but hope that that day is my lucky day. I am not very disappointed from bad pulls, because they are inevitably followed by good ones (rng...).
I also try guessing which champion will I pull. Sometimes I just feel it'll be someone and I guessed it right couple times
I usually pop lower level crystals (PHC, 3* and occasionally 4*). I spin the rest. Sometimes I get my friend on the call and ask her to tell me when to tap (her/my luck's usually bad, but she did get me a 5* BWCV). Recently opened a 6* and decided to try something new, so I counted to 10 before tapping the crystal. Got a Storm PX. Super happy about it, because she is my only non-dud 6*, but she can't replace my 5* Archangel sadly.
I personally wait until it’s raining at 3:57pm and open with my left big toe, let it spin for 20 seconds. I get so distracted, the trash doesn’t bother me.
What I like to do with big openings is the first one I'll quick tap, if I get someone good I'll do the same for the next one, when I get someone bad I switch to letting the next one spin out. Then I just keep alternating between the two when ever I get someone bad.

Prepare for the worst and get the worst? That doesnt sound right...
Pop, Drop, and Roll

I got a falcon 2 thursdays ago then got deablo and just Friday I got a 4* nexus crystal
So for now I’m going good n anything but a 2* is nice from a phc
Also my 4* came from phc shard crystal
For more important crystals, I resort to more...satanic practices. Goat sacrifice works a treat.
Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it, it got me 3 ghosts in 7 featured 6*s, plus a Killmonger, 2 red goblins and a Prof X in the same batch
