Weakness Bug in Cavalier Difficulty? - Chapter 3.1

Hi Guys
I'm not sure if this is a known issue but there seems to be a bug with the node "Weak in the Knees" in the science Chapter 3.1 of this Months Cavalier difficulty. Please correct me if I'm wrong or not understanding the node correctly but it says that me as the attacker will be inflicted with a weakness debuff reducing my Attack Rating by 30%. The only way to remove this is by having non-damaging debuff on the defender.
I have done fights with both Void and CapIW but the weakness debuff is not removed from my champion when the defender has a non-damaging debuff which is making these fights extremely long. I've attached Images for reference.
Please help?

That Fix is kinda going to suck because once you in a fight and it hasn't fixed the issue, its not like I'd be able to exit the fight without any consequences. But I guess there's no other way around it at the moment.. Hope Kabam Sorts out these issues ASAP, its costing players resources at the end of the day.
