Most fights with mystics or energy-damage are toast. This encompasses a lot of situations. Even when a champ has a counter to counter Torch as a counter, Torch has a counter-counter for that counter.
I'll admit I'm talking out my ass, as I literally just pulled Torch as a 5* finally, but I know enough from using the 4* to counter CavEQ bosses because he was quicker and safer than my 5r5s.
Would put him just behind Quake, Cap IW and Void but higher than iBom. Don't have much experience with him though.
Having all 5 of those guys r5(torch is 6* r3), and void/caiw being sig 200, id be willing to say Torch’s main contender is Void. Torch gets so much more use for me than CAIW.
On top of everything that has been said about Matchboy, don't forget his easy access to heal reversal and his amazing immunities. Not many champs are immune to both Incinerate and Coldsnap, and his Falter-countering just keeps getting better value, the more champs and nodes are added to the game with this mechanic.
