Pulled a red guardian, thoughts? (Rank up and awakening question)

I decided to open an incursions crystal today and I pulled a red guardian. I’m going to take him to at least rank 3 soon but the thing I’m trying to decide is regarding awakening and putting sigs into him. For reference here’s my current 5* science roster.

I’ve got one science 5* awakening gem currently and 97 science sig stones. As you can see I don’t have a 5* (or 6* for that matter) caiw or void. So the question is is it worth it to to use the awakening gem and sigs on red guardian even though I don’t have two science champions who I’d awaken and put sigs in over him? I do have a few generics if that changes anything. Also if you guys have a red guardian, any advice you have would be appreciated. Thanks.

Redhulk should have the priority if you don't have the 6

He's a bit too niche and ideally needs awakening and high sig. Would prefer Red Hulk over him although if it's an endgame roster, chances are, Red Guardian would do more.

My personal fave there is Red Hulk. Huge benefits from the AG too

RG needs awaken and high-ish sig for damage, then he’s better than Rulk. Without it Rulk a little more easy access damage, poison/incin utility, and flaming trinity still a high impact trio.

I’d prob use a gem on RG tho, this his sig more valuable to the champ, but depends on needs...

Is there any benefit other than the extra damage from having more durability?

Gives him x% perfect block chance, and he can block unblockable specials. At max sig he’s reasonably tanky cause u have high perfect block chance and u don’t lose durability charges. Along w sp2 damage boost.

I think he’s underrated. He can block unblockable attacks and heavies. But most importantly he can’t gain buffs. So any Mojo or Dormamu fight is a walk in the park. He cruises spite paths and buffet paths. He’s the only champ so far that can’t gain buffs. It comes in really useful.

Had to choose between him and iabom. He's probably gonna go up sooner or later, but all my science sigs went to abom...

Red guardian is amazing, plus his ability not to gain any buff is ideal for some nodes that actually can be a pain in the ass.

I myself use mine quite often, i have used him on act 6 and act 7 and so on.

If your roster is very limited as aparently it is, red hulk could offer more, specially his immunities, but if you have immunities covered, than red guardian is your best choice.

High sig is important as mentioned before.

@ShinobiGuy how does red guardian feel at only sig 20? If I use him do you suggest I put all my science sigs into him.

To respond to anyone talking about red hulk, I’ve got the immunities he has mainly covered and I don’t think it’s worth it to rank him up. My science roster is my smallest class which is why I’m hesitant to not have any sigs saved up if I pull someone good.

He feels fine. He’s not the strongest, but good enough. For me it’s the other stuff I mentioned that makes him shine more. And that’s not sig dependent.
