Abomination vs Nightcrawler

Was working in arena and matched up my duped 3/30 Abomination against a Nightcrawler so I could take advantage of the deep wound bleed damage nightcrawler deals to force some poison on him. After a few crits and deep wounds, no poison placed on nightcrawler. Why is this?

    It's a flaw in the game design where Nightcrawler uses a sword to inflict 'bleed' damage, and yet doesn't actually cause the opponent to bleed.

    It's not effective on bleed-immune characters. I have no idea if it has reduced effect on bleed-resistant characters like Beast because the tiny damage icon comes and goes so fast. Will have to pay attention to this!

    For abom to place poison by bleed it has to be a normal bleed nc deep wound bleed is passive and doesn't really bleed so it don't make poison best would have been if ur abom was duped and he was getting crits then he would poison never match undup abom to nc just because it's a disadvantage to abom if nc crits

    But then why do bleed immune champs not take this damage? If it's a bleed effect it should be triggering poison on Abomination. Or at least that's how I read the character description

    Bleed immune is immune to bleed damage, regardless if it comes from direct damage (DD) like NC's passive, or damage over time (DoT), like conventional bleeds.

    Abomination only applies the poison from DoT bleeds, not DD bleeds.

    It's splitting hairs, but it's the same reason that Iceman, who is immune to ALL forms of incinerate, ignores Mephisto's aura, but Vulture, that only eats DoT incinerates, still takes full damage.

    ... But when my NC Deep Wounds an Abom, he gets the refreshing stack of poison indicative of the one triggered by a bleed effect. But does not get the degen from Cable.

    Maybe that's just a duped abom and you're getting the regular poison stacks from contact? I don't trigger poison or degen with NC unless abom is duped.
