What happens if you are not able to get them in 30 days? There is a way to preserve them?

    What do you mean you are not able to? You hit claim, I think you will be able to. As for duration, after 30 days it is lost but if you claim it and it goes in the overflow then you get an extra 14 days before it is lost.
