So now that we got our first look on the Peni/Mysterio synergy

As shown in this video, this synergy easily fixes the core issue with Mysterio's kit by allowing him to get both his damage and utility. So this leaves me to wonder, will Mysterio be a champion that always needs Peni Parker on the team to be a better character, or is it possible Kabam made this synergy with the goal of testing if this might be a good buff to his basekit? Have they ever done so before? Because even though Peni looks good from what we've seen so far, I rather not have characters be bound to a synergy to be this much better.

    They did that with Ebony Maw. He had synergies with Air Walker and Stryfe that made it into his base kit after his most recent buff. I don’t think that’ll be the case with Mysterio though.

    Peni’s synergy is pretty big for mysterio. Some people might get a bit cocky and say he’s now a top 5 tech with this synergy

    I’m excited to get Peni eventually, but I certainly won’t be going for her early access bundles or Cavs, I’ll just wait until she’s in the featured

    Mysterio and Spider gwen are quite decent with peni's synergy. Might actually motivate me to grind for 5* peni

    It is very good but I see it as a ronin situation. If you weren't already a fan of mysterio I don't think this synergy is going to make you do a full 180. Even with the synergy you're going to have to choose between damage and utility. You need to build to an sp3 to really unlock his nutty damage and it's his sp1 and 2 that have most of his utility. The only utility that really is more accessible now is his fourth light attack healblock. Even that isn't super available because it doesn't last long enough to allow you to keep chaining heavies in between if the opponent has really massive healing.

    I think he fits comfortably as a top ten tech and I will likely take mine up to rank 3 but I don't think it's as transformative as the apoc synergy was for cable. Mysterio has a really inconsistent and short heavy reach plus still has some downsides in his base kit, not everyone is going to dig his playstyle.

    Cable is a different situation at present, since Apoc is such a beast by himself. He’s not a dead weight synergy. And plus, he has such a huge impact on other mutants in the class.

    We don’t know how good Peni is yet, and won’t for a while. So if she’s great, Mysterio could be a similar situation to cable. If she’s only decent, it may feel like dragging along another champion just for the synergy. It all remains to be seen

    I'd say she's well above average I pulled her a 5* and maxed her out. From the little I've done she has great utility decent damage and is fun to play I wouldn't rank her as highly as warlock ghost or g2099 but I would hulkbuster level a great addition to the game. I could be missing the "perfect" rotation if you will but so far so good a little stressful at times to throw your sp1 at the correct time. Mysterio Is fantastic with her though
