Are the thronebreaker arena crystals worth going for or nah?

    Depends on how many battle chips you have. I’d check out @DNA3000 posts on the math, but all kind should average out to be around the same amounts of units

    Depends on how fast you earn battlechips, and what your tolerance is for RNG. In general, all three arena crystals have the same *long term average* yield of most of the stuff, with a couple of exceptions. First, the Punisher you get increases in rank, so having the same odds but of a stronger champ is ultimately better. But these are very rare regardless. Second, the average yield of energy is slightly higher for the Thronebreaker crystal than the UC crystal because they couldn't just multiply that drop by five: that would make the TB crystal drop 50 full energy refills rarely, which would be borderline useless and ridiculous for most players. So instead it has a higher chance to drop the same bundle of ten. And I've been told (but cannot verify through testing) that the total yield of gold is *very slightly* higher for TB crystals than UC crystals to make the odds work out correctly due to the energy refill issue I just mentioned.

    For any normal player opening a reasonable number of crystals, the long term average stuff you get will be basically the same, except for the obvious difference in the Punisher drops. But while the long term average will be identical, the higher crystals have a much wider variation. Consider if you flip a coin a thousand times, you expect about half the flips to be heads and half tails. But if you flip a coin twice, there's a pretty good chance of getting 100% heads or 100% tails. It happens. You're opening a smaller number of higher value crystals, so there's a bigger chance to get something great, or something bad.

    Just for some context, here's the results of all of my Thronebreaker arena openings. I open them one million BC at a time, which is just twenty crystals.


    (This doesn't include times I pulled energy or Punisher).

    Units top row, Gold bottom row. I've had some great unit days: 3000 units a couple times and 3750 once. But I've also had some very **** days, I got 375 units twice. My average is 2045 per batch which is near the statistical average. But you have to be able to ride out the bad luck to reach the good luck. If that's unpalatable, I would stick to the lower crystals.

    If you're going for units and aren't a heavy arena grinder, then no. It's a fun gamble, though.

    I've had terrible luck with units, but I have pulled 5* Punisher 3 times in the last 10 crystals. :neutral:

    Not yet, but I did pull 5* Punisher, which is a rare drop from the TB crystals and a miracle from the UC crystals.
