Weird AI Behavior

There were a couple of instances where I got KOed or even teamwiped in particular fights while questing. Obviously the well known parry bug was the main issue, but I also found some strange situations that also contributed to this problem.
The first was when I was fighting the Knull boss of the final path of the Cosmic Horror Side Quest. I was playing passively- throwing specials and then retreating to keep up the power steal, rinse and repeat, and then all of a sudden I get "parried" while doing a basic combo on him. Knull then somehow counterattacks and hits me with a SP1 to the face, enough to KO me. Now technically speaking, it may or may not have been a parry, as unfortunately I didn't think about getting footage since I wouldn't think this was possible, but one way or another, he did somehow interrupt and counterattacks my combo, and he did not go unstoppable or unlockable at all for that.
The second one was a different situation. I am a FTP player, and so given my clear lack of potent counters for the first Cavalier Quest, I tried doing the horseman Archangel strat, and it actually worked until this AI playing aggressively went to the point of pushing me into the corner and landing an endless series of barrages and heavy attacks. It didn't even dodge back, it just kept hitting my block and landing heavy attacks, and "coincidentally" when I would try to intercept with a special or basic combo, it conveniently took advantage of my lowered block and hit me with a special to the face. Note that this wasn't evident for each fight- somehow it was that specific champion on that path (I redid the path twice and it was that same AI acting strange while the others seemed more passive). I'm not explicitly calling anything, it was just peculiar that they're were totally differences in AI behavior that overall wasn't consistent.
Lastly, there's some sort of weird parry animation that occurs when fighting L or XL champs. Like when I was fighting Warlock and Antivenom, whenever I would parry them, my character would be pushed back so far against their hit on my well timed block and usually it makes it so that throwing a heavy attack was too far away. Normally this wouldn't be as much of an issue except this made it so that my heavy attack would completely miss if I tried to throw it right away after the parry.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems or whatever with the AI recently, or is it just me?
