I'm not an expert on this by any means, but from what I've read, RNG in video games is not purely random. Instead, video games use PRNG (pseudorandom number generator). So there are algorithms involved, but they're probably too complex that it'll be very difficult for anyone to predict the results or identify any patterns.
So do I think Kabam's drop rates are purely random? No. But I'm not going to spend any time or energy trying to figure it out. It's just a game to entertain me.

I am honored to know I was blocked for such an awesome reason as simply disagreeing with your originally posted thesis.
Hey there, the chance of getting any particular champion from a Crystal is the same as getting any other, unless the Crystal specifically specifies otherwise. This means it is entirely possible for any player to get the same champion more than once as they open more Crystals. This becomes more likely when opening Crystals with smaller pools of Champions and can become easier to notice when it happens when opening more of these Crystals in a short period of time, though this is all still a function of standard randomness.
