When are you going to optimize the graphics for android?

It cannot be that in an Apple from 4 years ago the game has better effects than in a recent high-end Android. It would be nice if they at least included an option where you can choose which graphic quality to use.

I asked for graphic customisation option once and got disagreed to the oblivion, so people don't want that apparently. The problem with Android is the huge variety of devices and performance, which makes it hard to optimise the game. There are what, 30? Apple devices that need customisation, compared to hundreds of Android ones

We've been complaining about the graphics disparity for years and nothing gets done. If you're playing on an old iPhone and your game runs poorly, that's too bad, you're getting max graphics anyway. You're playing on a S22 Ultra or faster, your game looks trash by default, maybe because someone might get whiny if their free 5 year old Potato 8 chugs.
I would have put money on them figuring out 120 Hz in time for iPhone but in a shocking plot twist, the game got hella worse for iOS.

I upgraded to a pixel 6 Pro and I am getting the same effects people see in iphones.

Problem is, unless you have the a android over 2 years old, it won't run the way you're asking.

Until you can demonstrate that improving the graphics doesn't make for longer load times, laggier fights, and less consistant inputs... please... don't improve the graphics.

Lol, that argument stopped being valid years since practically every game nowadays has the same graphics on both android and iPhone even if you're playing on a potato. What black magic do they have access to that MCOC doesn't?

    This is entirely false.

The game is optimised for the majority of Android phones. What this means is that the average minimum spec Android phone will run the game at a certain frame rate, and due to the MASSIVE (and I really do mean MASSIVE) variations of Android phone hardware they have to pick and choose what they graphically enhance. This is substantially easier on iOS as the hardware doesn’t vary that much within those devices.

For example, the entire line up of iPhone 13 devices, from the Pro Max to the Mini all use the same CPU the A15 Bionic, while the CPU performance may vary slightly between each model in terms of speeds, the amount of cores and overall processing is the same. Even their GPUs are the same, with the Pro and Pro Max having one additional core compared to the 13 and Mini, but the architecture is the same. This makes optimisation very simple, and follows the same trend for all series of iOS devices within a generation.

However with Android these specs can vary wildly. Just the CPUs alone that different android devices use are Snapdragon, Exynos, Tensor, Kirin, Dimension. Each of these CPUs have different max capabilities, different core amounts, different logics. And this doesn’t even go into the GPU side of things which there are many different ones again. All of these things can be mixed within different phones for the most part (although some like the Tensor is made by Google so I’d have to assume that they are exclusive to the Pixel series, but I don’t know that for certain). All of these different components make it extremely difficult to optimise the absolute max potential of the game on Android because simply there’s too many different variations and combinations. It is easier then to take the lowest common denominator, and make sure that the game works on that.

This is still a problem for iOS too, to a much lesser extent, and is the main reason why certain iOS and Android versions become no longer supported as the hardware in them becomes less capable of handling newer effects that get added to the game.

So yeah. That’s pretty much the reason why.

And just this month they are having issues with the game loading, intermittent lag, battlegrounds crashing, now Alliance War is not calculating map ratings. And they are building content so they can make money.

But you think they will stop to address android graphics out of the goodness of their hearts? Even asking for this as a remote possibility sounds ridiculous. Its great that you pointed this out, but it will never change

Kabam isn't dumb and fotb-new to the industry where they just now noticed the existence of different devices and ensuring universal support might cripple them. They aren't making the game + engine from scratch where they'd have to hand tune their homegrown engine for every device. They're using an off the shelf engine that's in wide use across tons of different devices, both iOS and Android. They could get the graphics situation squared away if they wanted to.

The unnecessary Android graphics disparity came years before any of that.

I bought the Pixel 6 Pro when it came out and at release, it didn't have the good graphics either. They were enabled later.
