ANNOUNCING EVENT QUEST: HOTEL M.O.D.O.K

WISH YOU WERE HERE
With The Collector deposed, The Grandmaster has had to do some housekeeping. One note on the to-do list is what should be done about the self-proclaimed genius M.O.D.O.K and his experiments? According to The Grandmaster, the easiest solution would be to give him his own small part of The Battlerealm to do as he pleases. So that’s exactly what he’s done!

Come take a trip to M.O.D.O.K’s slice of The Battlerealm where relaxation and experimentation are aplenty. Scientific hybrids with a vacation getaway theme, what could be more relaxing?

STUDY BUDDIES
M.O.D.O.K has been studying his combatants in the contest for a while, and after much research M.O.D.O.K is sure that his genius intellect will be more than enough to handle any foes who cross his path. M.O.D.O.K’s studies have not finished however, as he continues to analyze and study his opponents for the competitive edge. His force field also allows him to Auto-Block incoming attacks.

Taskmaster has entered The Contest! With a knack for picking up new skills on the fly, Taskmaster is second to none at analyzing opponents in the heat of combat. During a fight, Taskmaster can match his Opponent’s last Attack for Direct Damage, as well as reduce the duration of debuffs.

ANNOUNCING NEW DIFFICULTY: UNCOLLECTED DIFFICULTY
A new difficulty has been added to the monthly Event Quests! Summoners who have become Uncollected by completing Act 5 Chapter 2 and are Level 40 will find a new step in difficulty available to them. Called simply UNCOLLECTED, this difficulty comes with new rewards and challenges, and will be available in the monthly Event Quests going forward.

Each map features a path which brings back some buffs from Act 5 such as Buffet and Bane. But once these paths are completed and the quest is mastered, a new set of rewards are yours for the taking. Including a new exclusive “Unchallenged” title, only available during the first release of the new difficulty.

For completing and mastering all of the Uncollected quests, you earn:

4020x 4-Star Crystal Shards
7500x 5-Star Crystal Shards
2500x 6-Star Crystal Shards
12000x Tier 2 Alpha Catalyst Fragment
10x 5-Star Signature Stone Crystal
9000x Tier 5 Generic Catalyst Shard
1x Tier 4 Class Catalyst Crystal
1x Unchallenged Title

OTHER DIFFICULTY CHANGES
A few changes have come to some other difficulties as well, Beginner difficulty has been made easier for new players as well as paths have been reduced on some maps to accelerate the rate at which they master quests.

Master difficulty has had its difficulty slightly reduced as well, PI ranges are now lower in the second half of the Event Quests to allow for a smoother difficulty curve.

Q&A

How long does this quest run for?
This quest will be starting on the 6th of December at ~10:00AM PST and will run until January 3rd at 10:00AM PST. Those attempting Legends runs will have until December 20th to 100% explore both Heroic and Master difficulties.

You must update to the new 16.1 Release to be able to see and participate in this quest.

Does this mean that you're changing how the Legends Program works?
Not right now! We may make an adjustment in the future, but don't have any plans for this at the moment

I can’t see some of the rewards under “View Rewards” Are they missing?
No, they’re there! Currently we can’t fit all the rewards in the preview. So on some difficulties a few of the rewards won’t be visible when you preview the quest. You will still get them however.

How do I get the Legends title associated with Master Difficulty?
The Legends title and rewards will be given to the 100 players who 100% explore HEROIC AND MASTER difficulties in Hotel M.O.D.O.K the fastest. Just like recent Event Quests, this quest will take advantage of the Time Attack system we’ve put in place for our Monthly Quest Legends Program. This means that the players that completely explore Heroic and Master difficulty the fastest within the first 2 weeks of the event being live will win the title. In addition to this distinction, these first 100 will receive the following rewards:

The amount of t1a needed to rank 5* champs is ridiculous man. Even if I spend all my glory on them, it's still too hard to get the amount you need.

That depends on how much you need. You realistically need to be ranking up more than two 5* champions multiple rank ups a month to deplete the availability of T1A. That's only a tiny percentage of players at the moment, although with the uncollected reward level that percentage is likely to rise substantially.

Top rewards go to players that can do the top content. That will always be true.

However, beginners are getting a lot and have always gotten a lot in this game, especially recently. In December beginning players will get the opportunity to buy a crystal for a buck that is likely to contain a stronger champion than I had for the first six months of my game play or longer. With reasonable practice time they will have an I Win button for the entire game up to Act 4.

The summoner appreciation boosts help everyone in general, but XP boosts help beginners more than longer term players, and help top players exactly not at all.

Calendar rewards, which you get just by logging in, disproportionately help newer players over older players because the rewards are basically the same for everyone (outside of the uncollected calendar) but those rewards have a greater impact on lower tier players. For beginning players, their best source of T4B is probably the login calendar: for no effort they can upgrade 4* champions to rank 4.

Beginning players are constantly handed extra resources to help them get a leg up and entire the realm of the moderate middle-tier players. But if you think that there's supposed to be some "fairness" involved with introducing top tier content, that if every time they introduce a new higher tier of content they should also introduce some new "bonus low tier" content, I'm afraid you don't understand the point to progressional games. Progressional games reward making progress, not hanging around at low levels of progress. Progressional games expand upward. They *help* lower tier players to improve. They don't reward lower tier players for being lower tier.

Another massive well done to Kabam on the new Uncollected quest level feature, & rewards! Heroic doesn't benefit players of same caliber as I. Now, with both Master & Uncollected, we're getting something truly special once a month. Good stuff!

Can we get a diagram of something along the PI's we will be facing?

My *ahem* 13yr old son can 100% heroic every month if he gets the time to play. Calendars are dropping T4B like candy so there is no real reason why a beginner cant quickly build a reasonable team for questing.

Once you have a halfway reasonable team you should be at least completing master. Units from arena crystals and milestones plus the calendar will cover the cost of revives etc to get you through.

Combine that with half arsed arena scoring and there is free stuff dropping out of the sky for newer players.

4/40's will get you pretty far ingame and they are fairly easy to obtain for the semi-invested without getting too obsessed.

I get your point and I'm nowhere near the guys who will benefit from these changes but we get plenty for doing not much.

Sorry kabam I love this announcement, and thanks for t2a shards, but as a map 5 player my bottleneck resource is alphas, all these uncollected rewards mean extra 4*s, extra 5*s, extra t4b and t4cs but I can't rank any faster so basically just means more r1 5*s, and a further Imbalance of resources to go in my stash while I save up and spend all my glory on t1as to try and catch up

As @Gamer said,You need 45k shards,You get 9k now.
So,
45000/9000=20/100=
20%,You need to explore these event quests in uncollected difficulty for 5 months for a full t5b.

In the past, when players have asked about adding more levels to the Summoner Level for Xp, we were told that could not be done because it would offset the balance between energy costs for Event Quests.

With this new difficulty being added it will require more energy from players that attempt to complete all difficulties.

Because of that, will the Summoner Level be expanded more? That way the energy cap levels can also fairly be extended, along with other additional rewards for each further level progression.

@Kabam Miike is the energy for “Uncollected” difficulty going to cost more than 3 per tile, and can we know the average PI of champs we will be facing? Also will the bosses at the end of quests be Collector level hard, or Goldblum Loki hard?

I believe it's somewhat the result of learning the difference in CR with 6*s, however if that's the case, it's really not that significant when it boils down to Damage. We saw that with the Boss Rush.

I'm not really in a rush. I'm OCD and having dozens of t4bs and t4cs that I work hard for and can't use is what actually annoys me, every addition we keep seeing to the game of availability of resources omits the already imbalanced t1as (for those who run map 5s) so what's the point in getting more t4cs and t4bs

Honestly I didn’t feel any difference when fighting opponents of higher CR. Is there supposed to be one? Lol
