Hitmonkey or Shang-Chi

Hey all, looking to take either hitmonkey or Shang-chi to rank 4 as a 6 star, both unawakened but that doesn’t rly matter to me as neither needs their awakened ability and idc abt prestige. I was very torn so I wanted some input from the community if you guys think there is a clear choice between the two.

    I haven't used HM much, but do use SC alot for his slow and cleansing utility.

    Mostly individual content, battlegrounds is also important to me even tho it’s not a thing rn

    I have them both at R2 unawakened.

    I think I’ll take HM up to R3 first

    I LOVE Hit Monkey! I think he is one of my favorite champs to play. I think he is just really fun to use and I enjoy him a lot. But I think Shang Chi would be a better R4 option. I don't have a 6* Shang Chi and am considering Hit Monkey as a my 3rd or 4th R4 when I get to that point, but if I had Shang Chi as a 6* I would probably take him up over Hit Monkey. He has more utility and better overall damage...I don't find his playstyle/rotation quite as "fun", but his special 2s are sick...

    Shang-chi cuz he has better damage as well as more utilities and easy access to them.

    Btw rank 3 shangchi is more than enough. Considering the block proficiency of hitmonkey you can rank him up. Both champs are good for battlegrounds. It would be better to rank up the champ who you enjoy playing.
