Grandmaster Gauntlet Situation.

We know that the bug was from Wednesday's update, and was detected after 24 hours. I understand that there will be a reset for everyone? and people who have devoted resources to doing so will not get banned? because of your mistakes.

Why would you assume that? Its entirely your fault if you run content again to get the rewards even if the bug is kabam’s fault. You knew you had already finished it, it was stated that it wasn’t recurring content, so why would you get to run it again?

Dear friend, I have never read the forum. there was no in-game warning to fail to do so. as a normal player looking for content to play, I did it for the 3rd time. And so my revives were ending. it's not my fault that Kabam is error after error. I have nothing to reproach myself for. if they were interested in the game, they could turn off Gauntlet in 10 minutes. same with offers for 7.4 for 10k came up 3 times? case?
Kabam doesn’t have an alarm that goes off every time a bug activates. They’re people who don’t spend every second of every day checking for stuff. One, it’s not possible for them to make such an alarm. Two, it would have broken day one from overuse. In this case It’s called common sense though. If your labyrinth progress reset, would you run that a second time? If your variant 4 progress reset, would you run it again? If your act 5 progress reset, would you run it a second time? No, because it’s permanent content that’s meant to give rewards one time.

Everyone who cheated and took advantage of this obviously unintended bug should get a lifetime ban or at the very least unit jail in the amount of the value of the rewards of they were put in an offer, which is probably 500 usd.

Speaking of Gaunlet. Although mine wasn't reset it doesn't show 100% like my other content. Do we have to go thru each path portal to 100%? I'd rather not as seeing no "exploration" rewards

Just as a side note, basically in every situation in-game that I assume one thing will happen, there are two steps that I take.

First, I go read the nodes or champ descriptions. That can often refresh me on interactions/mechanics that I have forgotten.

Then, if that does not resolve my confusion, I go to the Forums to see if this has already been addressed. I use the search bar, then I'll even post and ask about it. If I found a great new aspect of the game, then awesome. If I just discovered a bug, I sit and wait to see how Kabam will handle it, then adjust my gameplay accordingly.

What about people who don’t read forums and saw it rest?kabam already allowed it to be done 3X now, anyone would assume if the 3 past times was okay what’s a 4th.

What about try hards like MSD who just like to repeat content over and over who done another run of gauntlet?

What about content creators who may of ran gauntlet again to make videos?

Right, but I'd wager most people who play MCOC do NOT consume content outside of the game itself. They open the game, see if there is a quest that they can do and then do it. That's where the grey area is. If you blanket ban people who've ran it the 3rd time, there will be many confused players who won't know what they even did wrong to begin with.

Gauntlet had already reset once before legitimately, which will only further add to the confusion and a bunch of people stating that was their reason to re-run it (whether they're being sincere or not).

Unless there is a practical way to remove what people did (for their 3rd run, and I've heard from one person, but have no evidence... their 4th run)...

I think the fairest thing to do would be to "reset it for everyone" and let people do it another time. This isn't like Labrynth where an extra set of rewards is barely worth the energy spent... and would give a competitive edge to players who just were "lucky enough".

The alternative would be to just give the rewards to players who previously did it more than a few days ago / then were reset, because the "could have" (I have enough revives in overflow / and even sold some that I would have if it reset for me and I thought the rewards might stay).

That said, I hope there is an easy way to deal with this. First it was millions in loyalty, then this... its really creating some imbalance

Also if Kabam want to take rewards away from people because they messed up the need to also give back any resources used only fair

What I think is going to happen is people who did it again will keep rewards because they didn’t do anything but play the content Kabam allowed them to and Kabam will shut down the quest for those who haven’t fixing the exploration for those who done it

If they were going to ban or take rewards why not just say that to keep people from doing it feels like what they are doing is trying to make people unsure if they should do it just to prevent more from doing so so less have the extra rewards

I definitely see the gray area, I was just trying to outline a method that people can use to actually apply to situations like this.

An in game msg saying this is a bug, don't do the gaunlet again if you have already done it, that would've been better than the fourm post, not everyone checks the fourms daily

There is no chance anyone ran the gauntlet after it reset without knowing it was bugged. No one is going back into content randomly to see if progress was reset. These people 100% heard through Line or Discord or heck even global chat that progress was reset for some, then they went and did it again to see if they could get rewards again.

Only way anyone truly may not have known are the people who had revives expiring and was like “hmm maybe I’ll do a practice run through gauntlet to get rid of these and try some things out”…..but I imagine that is about 0.1% of people who did gauntlet after the reset.

People got 1 week bans a year ago from I believe mutant treasure island for a lot less for rerunning paths.

Bringing this in from the official post:

An unknown error has resulted in Grandmaster Gauntlet progress being reset for a portion of our playerbase; this was not intentional. While the team works to uncover why this happened, we will be temporarily removing the Grandmaster Gauntlet as a playable mode. This is to prevent players exploiting the error as an opportunity to double up on these rewards. The mode will be reinstated when the team has resolved the issues.

It's also important to point out that it's very unlikely anyone's account would be banned for this.

This situation is also a great time to remind people that chasing the mods around the forum and asking the same question in multiple unrelated threads is probably not the way to get the information you want.
