Battlegrounds Victory Track is Frustrating

I am a Cavalier player and have been playing over a year. My roster is not the most developed, which is why I find it frustrating that when I win a BG match, I get a victory medal, but I can easily lose a match too, making it almost impossible to scale to the top of the Victory Track to even unlock the solo objectives, let alone the currency for the store. I feel like it is really difficult to progress with the mode when you have to spend 90 units to prevent a loss.

And as for the solo events, who would be willing to spend the energy refills or units required to complete it? It's a nice idea but not taken full advantage of from my perspective as other modes such as EQ, story content, side quests and even arena which doesn't cost to enter, take precedence

    It just is a bad system, you need to win 40 matches straight to reach Vibranium, which will give you the most Elder's Mark. Firstly this is a huge grind, and secondly players with less developed rosters or with not enough time(or money) won't be able to get any good rewards, so there is just no point in playing for most of the player base.

    You need to win consecutive matches to progress to higher tiers, but you do not need to win them all consecutively to reach the highest tier. It is (supposed to be) setup so that you can't decrease tiers, so you will only need to win 2-3 times in a row one tier at a time.

    There is simply no way I am winning the 45 or 46 matches to reach the top, I agree. And do you need to win them without losing any as well? I think a defeat loses a medal, which isn't helpful. The very most I can get out of this is a few thousand of the currency, to maybe have some 6* shards, but it takes so much time and effort, while other game modes may be less interesting but simpler/quicker to play and easier to obtain rewards. I have units but won't spend on Elder's Marks because they are almost certainly better for the cyber weekend, new holiday crystal and revives than doing some of the solo events

    40 matches straight would be the fastest way to progress to Vibranium, it's correct that you can't decrease tiers, but if you lose matches the grind only get worse.

    Winning a few in a row may not sound difficult but it could take a while in each tier to win 3-4 straight matches for a lot of players, even with highly developed rosters, as they could come up against equally strong opponents

    Yeah they clearly wanted this to be horrible. They betas were better without all this nonsense. I think I’ll just buy all the elders marks and lose my way to the best rewards.

    Can't say for certain, but I would expect matches to get easier for you as a bit of time passes. Amongst the many mistakes made with this launch, they started all players at the very beginning of progression. So instead of paragon players starting at say gold 3 and TB players starting at silver 3, and then having Cav and below start at bronze 3, now you and others players at or below your level get to face off against paragon players working their way through tiers they ideally shouldn't have started in. Matches should get a bit better once a lot of those larger accounts have made their way through the early tiers.

    This is all based on hope.

    Good point, it hopefully evens out over time so the matches are 'fairer', but the whole idea isn't sustainable if you're not willing to use lots of energy and units, which I would not do regularly. Maybe they could do a Battlegrounds arena or something in another of the game modes which offers the Elder's Marks and a few victory shields as milestones? If there was another way we could obtain some of them rather than having to buy them all, it could make it more desirable

    You can’t drop tiers, does that mean silver can’t drop back to bronze or bronze1 can’t drop to bronze2. Meaning are the sub tiers also protected?

    A possible idea could be to make the Victory Shields work like boosts, where they could last for half an hour or an hour, that way they have some value compared to what they are now maybe?

    Some elders marks are obtainable through tier progression, but obviously you have to be able to progress for that to matter in the first place.

    Once you reach the top there are probably enough elders marks to play 30 to 40 matches and earn points in the solo events, which is fine. The main issue I have is spending energy or units which I would prefer to use in quests and special offers, with the possibility of needing to play many matches to obtain the marks anyway. Considering that energy is likely spent in either one place or another, I'll probably stick to EQ and act 5 exploration/6 Completion. And there's a limited amount of time to spend on the game most days too, I'd like to have time for all game modes, that's why I barely do incursions
