Battlegrounds

I know what yr all going to say.....get good at the game and stop complaining! I have over 14k pres, a rating of ove 2.3 mil, and have some great champs. Yet, I have lost to every apponent I have faced. I've tried with and without suicides....NOTHING works. I have r4 6*'s.....and they lose as well. I've tried all of my over 900 champs yet I have failed every time. I used to like battlegrounds.....not so much now. Today is the first time I've put my phone down and given up on MCOC.

To say I feel deflated is an understatement. I don't know whether there are players out there that are blatantly cheating, or they are just so good they are unbeatable. Yeah yeah I know, get good right!

+1 for this. This is just an energy dump for me. Ive now lost 16 in a row and all 16 matches i got was against paragon’s with +15-20% more base hero rating end prestige than i have.

And like i said in another post, the energy dump = zero rewards, if i got halve or even a 3rd of the trophy tokens for a 5 loss every 5 days than you would get for the wins i would play and keep on trying, but now the energy investment does not equal the frustration

Thanks guys! I thought I was the only one that felt this way.

I completely agree it's a waste of time and energy when you lose. And it's hard to win three in a row for many players, much less 5 wins every 2 days. There should be something given for a loss to make it worth the energy and time invested otherwise there is no point continually playing and not moving up tiers.

Look, good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living, that's something else.

I’ve not had any issues progressing through the ranks so far (I’m in plat 1) and I’m not a spender at all.

Try and isolate why you’re losing. What attackers are you having success with? you picking the right defenders for the meta? What holes in your roster do you need to fill? Are you approaching the fights with the right tactics?

Just having a big roster doesn’t mean you’ll win matches.

I get what you are saying, and for the record I am not struggling in BG. But I do think the player base is already shrinking because people who lose (which is half the player base at any given time) don't feel rewarded for their time. I am in a top 100 AQ alliance and when Bg rewards came out people were talking about if we should become a BG focused alliance, well fast forward to today only 9 people are still playing and only a handful are moving up the tiers, and no one thinks BGs should be a focus anymore. That's not a good sign at all.

It’s just not the playable, throwing energy and feeling like a beginner. It is the worst game mode Kabam has introduced yet. I am not gonna waste any time anymore on battlegrounds what a dissapointment

Worst game mode? Did they cancel AQ or what

I don't think this mode is sustainable if every season we have to grind to get into the Gladiator's circuit. Bad enough having to sustain a streak to get to the next tier, but can honestly say this will go to the waist side if having to go Bronze to GC next season.

Modders still exist and the rewards system is just terrible. Hopefully Kabam can fix things moving forward next season. Until then I just look at this season as another beta release.

Haven't played a single BG match this season and I hope this terrible system will continue into next season so I don't have to look at it.

Can I ask a reasonable ❓ who is BattleGrounds intended for? I've played 3matches that have opponents with r4 6*s against my r5 5*s the opponent has the ability to pick nodes that I can't adjust? Am I just stupid and don't understand how to work this game mode or is everyone dealing with the same thing? I'm not talking to the jerks on here that just like to bash the FTP players, I'm asking the common folks who are ticked off that they are using energy or the resources to try and get a few wins in this new game mode

For some reason I keep getting Korg as my second fight

I completely get how you feel. Out of my over 30 battlegrounds matches so far, I only won 2, and that was only because once the other player disconnected and the AI picked a bad champ for him, and the other time I clutched at 5% with my 6* Doom. I have 3 6* r4s, Doom, Apoc and Herc, and yet I lose nearly every time

Monetization aside, my main gripe is that the nature of the rewards/track system is that it's a grind. You win a few, lose a few, but eventually you hit the next track and can obtain new trophy tokens. It's time consuming, resource (energy) consuming, and a lot of times, you have nothing to show for your efforts.

This game is in many ways RNG dependent and the same goes for this mode. Randomized opponent, randomized draft choices, and then RNG within the fights themselves. Couple that with input and connection issues, and it's possible to lose for reasons other than skill or roster. This leads to frustration and the feeling of "wasting time and energy" playing a game. This mode feels more stressful than fun and for a casual gamer, that's not the way I want to feel after I play.

If you compare this mode to another grindy mode, arena, there are some differences. Arena fights are easy, you're rewarded for the time you spend with milestone rewards and battle chips. It's monotonous and tedious, but at least there's a guaranteed payoff. There's no such thing in battlegrounds unless you want to buy elder's marks, which really only yield some 6* shards and the chance for rank rewards at the end of the season. I'd prefer to see an option where you can obtain a small amount of trophy tokens or some other form of currency to keep casual players engaged (similar to the participation milestones in the beta).

For example, I played 2 rounds this morning, which took roughly 20 minutes and cost 30 energy. I lost the first round and won the second. So after 20 minutes of playing, I'm exactly where I was when I started with nothing to show for it and wishing that I had done something else with my time.

I don’t mean this horribly, but if you’ve lost 28 matches out of 30, I wouldn’t say that’s the game modes fault.

I lose from parry not working 50% of the times and a few other input issues that are still not getting fixed. What exactly did I learn from this?

If you’re losing because of input issues then I’m on your side. That’s not in your control.

My comment was meant to be constructive, those are the questions I look to answer. I don’t seem to be having the same experience in BG’s that the rest of the guys in this thread are having. I’m not finding it difficult to move up the ranks, but then again I’ve put a lot of time and focus into my roster (although I’m FTP).

I got to platinum 2 pretty smooth. Even though I used 4 shields to protect my streak but each time I used one I got matched up with someone a tier or two above me. That part seems like a scam

But now it platinum to I have lost 17 matches in a row yes 17 after they so-called fixed matchmaking.

A couple other odd things I have noticed is I seem to win the first fight in a match regularly only to get stumped the next two fights in pretty unrealistic fashion.

Another odd thing that seems like it’s in the coding is the RNG or “bugs” always seems to kick in for the defender pretty soon before you are about to kill them. It’s like I can go through the fight almost untouched and then no matter what once they get around 25% or under Something Happens. Way way too many times to be a coincidence.

Frustrating to think this was obviously a monetary grab but that they are trying to rig the game only to make more money.
