Gladiator Circuit rankings

Given how ridiculous the next three weeks of Gladiator Circuit is, say you're placed on Arcane now, can you never do a match until it ends and still retain your current rank?

Obviously that's a bad decision given you'll miss out on tokens every two days but just hypothetically.
