Did They Change BG Matchmaking Today?

Earlier today I was matching players with similar rosters but when I hoped on to play a few rounds just now I got matched against players with decks higher than mine 6 times in a row. They weren't sandbagging or using exploits they just had a significantly better roster than mine.

Just asking, which tier are you in currently.

    Same thing for me.

I'm currently plat 1 but I had no problem earlier today and yesterday finding fair matches.

What op is complaining about is exactly how it should be, I hope that is how they fixed it as rating and prestige should be irrelevant in BG matchmaking. My guess though is that in the howr tiers like platinum is there are few low rosters there so it's less likely to get matched with another low roster in higher tiers.

I agree that there should be a point where deck rating matchmaking should be phased out but only once you reach the gladiators circuit. Every single player that plays bg somewhat competitively should have a fair chance at relieving ranked rewards in the form of trophy tokens by the end of a season. Having 40% of the player base stuck in a rank where they don't recieve anything ruins the incentive to play the mode.

Ranked rewards are for the top mil participants. Depending on how many participants it is possible that everyone with even a score of 1 point may be eligible for rank rewards. At the same time it’s also a possibility that 50% of the people do not qualify for rank rewards if there are 2mil participants. Getting easier matchups or guaranteeing wins in the initial phase doesn’t mean everyone is eligible for rank rewards.

I've been facing a lot of people who have 2-5 1*s in their roster. I'm currently paragon and my lowest in my deck is like 2 r2 6*s, everything else is r3 and I got about 9 r4s. I do feel bad for these people who I'm facing because they only have 1-3 r4s. It is hard to tell if the matchmaking has changed though since I've only done 3 matches this season

You get rewards from solo and alliance milestones in the form of 6* shards and rank up mats but you don't recieve trophy token rewards at the end of the season unless you get into the gladiator circuit. If you end up in gold or plat on the standard path you don't receive any. Im also not saying that every player should be guaranteed easy fights but at the very least should actually have a chance at winning to the point where we actually recieve something for our efforts instead of getting thrown in the mud 20 times in a row.
