R5 help?

Just completed all of the objectives for The eternity of pain. Got a science gym and my current science rank 4s are ibom, thing( both sig 200) and scorpion who's around sig lvl 70ish. I also have the materials to bring a different science champ not listed up as well, so I'm open to any other ideas please and thank you.

    What is your preferred Mastery's and what content are you prioritizing?

    My mastery setup changes as needed. I ran full suicides for like 2 years but just recently took them off a couple months ago.

    And I really don't have much as far as content is concerned until at 8.2 comes

    I mean more like do you prioritize the competitive content like AW/BG and to a lesser extent AQ or do you like having the best champ for solo content like story and questing etc.

    ok here's 2 cents then.

    The all round most usable champ is probably Scorpion. His regen cap is also fixed to his base health so improving that helps that.
    Compare that to Thing who's Protection is % based which means if someone isn't working around it then it doesn't really matter how much health he has. Thing is great as a BG defender but I feel that is about it. Even in AW Defense I don't find him particularly great.
    Quicksilver is probably the best AW Defender out of your options and is also exceptional Prestige. Although some of that defensive value is still due to recency bias in particular with how janky his animations are. I personally don't enjoy using him (or fighting him lol) because of that.
    Human Torch you will have 0 regrets 6 months from now but you may have them tomorrow if that makes sense.
    iBom I think is seriously underrated even with the respect the community gives him. If you were fully committed to ouchies he would be my choice and even without them he's right there.
    I only got Spidey2099 so I can't comment on him. Some people really like him and I understand why.

    I took sig 60 scorpion to rank 5 (over sig 200 s2099, quicksilver, and thing) and won’t look back. Scorpion is an awesome well balanced champ and I use him everywhere.

    My options were iBomb, HT, Scorp, Spidey2099 and Titania....

    I went with HT, reason for me was that from a perspective of champs that are introduced and the class advantage and content usage of Mystics, HT has consistently been a top 3 Science champ. His mechanics are simple, no crazy rotations, pretty much just fight haha (I get lazy after 8 years)

    I love iBomb and Scorp, I'm pretty ok with Spidey2099 and I have no doubts in their specific ability to clear content and be competitive, but I like HT, at some point this is slowly becoming a game for me and I just decided my first R5 should be a champ I like and use.

    Depending on your roster and goals in the game...I think you go with who you like and are good at using as opposed to what everyone else would rank up, because in the end, your roster, your goals and your skills...

    I did scorpion and max sig him too. He's a really balanced champ with good synergies. Love using sp2 on champs that regen so I can get topped off, blocks unblockable attacks as long as they're taunted. Plus he's the only champ immune to ruptures

    Scorpion is best science.. if you have him you use it on him. Only other might be Quicksilver for prestige and he is still pretty good

    If you enjoy QS playstyle, QS is the go to option. The whiplash damage is absolutely unreal, and he has so much utility when it comes to offense. Scorpion is also a solid option, and also has lots of utility as an attacker. Ibom if you are looking for a solid defender
