Why don't forfeits count towards BG milestones?

Just had a match where I didn't load into my round 3 fight, which was bad enough, but then I had to sit there for 2 minutes waiting for the game to tell me what I already knew. Why don't I have the option to forfeit and move on to the next without losing points?

    Because someone could forfeit their way to a lot of rewards.

    Somebody could bring a full deck of 2*s and "forfeit" their way to a whole bunch of rewards just as fast. They'd still be bottlenecked by the energy/elders mark cost.
