I have no idea by what you mean in terms of respecting 6*s, but a 6* is no longer the highest. Further to that, the amount of people who have a Duped R2 7* is quite small indeed.
"Something that is very important to us with the addition of this new rarity is to ensure that we’re respecting the existing rosters that players have built."
I would like to think that this include respecting players' existing prestige as well, but nope, they didn't.
It took 18 MONTHS for mega spenders to be able to have a rank 2 6 star show up in their profile. Now the 7* prestige numbers are so inflated that they've made 6 stars obsolete almost instantly. 6* prestige will matter for a bit longer, but they're already dying as far as prestige.
Why is this such a contentious issue? You guys don't see the difference?

The only person with a contentious issue is you. You’re literally one of the only people who thinks that this is an issue. It’s not.
7s are already overtaking the top 5 6s at low sig levels.
At sig 40, 11 champs come into the top 5.
At sig 60, the number expands to 32 champions, where an IMIW beats 6* Surfer for second place.
For better context on why this is rushed, this is what top prestige used to look like in mid 2019.
It took a year and half from launch and ~140 sigs for rank 2 6s to start beating out the 5s, and it was really hard to pull champs and sigs back then.
We were promised a slow smooth transition from 6s to 7s but what took 18 months then took 2 weeks now. Why was it done like this? 6s are almost irrelevant for prestige now.
Honestly i felt like 7* as a whole were a bit rushed maybe thats because of the rate my own account is pogressing but i feel like we just just got r4 and r5's and now we already have the ability to take a 7* to r2
r3 6*'s are still enough for everything now except high level war defense and such a large power creep so quickly just makes it feel like 6 stars wont be viable for that much longer which i know isnt true but cant help but feel that way anyways for some reason
I hate that Auntmai now defaults to 7* r2 when listing champs by prestige.
I had the same concern when 6* were added, didn't feel like it was right to be the default since it wasn't "the most common", but I have no easy way of measuring when to flip the switch (I don't track behavior, it's an info site, it doesn't need to be phoning home constantly). Prestige is more the domain of top AQ alliances, so it felt like it made more sense to anchor to the top end instead of an arbitrary middle.
And when you click on a 6* champ, it defaults to 7* max rank stats,
I agree, I'm not a big fan of the default but I'm not too sure what the correct default should be.
I can pretty easily have it keep the last tier/rank you viewed be the default and I'll probably do that for the next release, both for champion page and prestige list... I can probably make that configurable too (like how dark/light mode is kept and togglable).
Well that's just hurtful! You can check the 7*R6 stats yourself in game when you tap on an unowned champion. Legitimately asking for the constructive criticism; any reason you find the data untrustworthy, anything you're aware of as inaccurate?
