What are you on because i want some. Root works differently everywhere it is used of course it's not going to consistently do the same thing. The root mechanic roots champions in place. Anything else is entirely dependent on champion abilities and nodes. As for the heavy spam that was a known issue that had been addressed
what are you writing about? Roots worked this way not only for Baron Zemo, but for Craven, the sandman and the supreme spiderman. Their roots worked EVERYWHERE THE SAME And now, kabam fix Root mechanic, not only Baron zemo
Let's play a game....Which of these root mechanics is the same as the other? Which are different?
Baron Zemo-
Kraven-
Sandman-
Now that you've had time to read these abilities, your answer should have been.... none of them are the same. Each are different.
Zemo doesn't say anything about not throwing specials.
Kraven explicitly says throwing a special removes root.
Sandman says Stand your ground removes root.
Even zemos root is removed by specials though
So, why Zemo and others root, lock sp1 and sp2? Where is that written?
It's not. That's the whole point. All root mechanics can be averted by using a special. Any special. It's always been this way. No root ability states neither defenders or attackers can't use any special while rooted. It literally can't be a nerf.
Omg, go on youtube please, and see how roots work.
I don't need to go to youtube to see how they work. I know how they work. I've told you how they work. You are under the impression that you can't activate specials while rooted even though it's never been that way and it's not written that way.
Omg….all this tred about rooted opponents! Not about your attack champions under roots. You are wonderful not smart man🤷
Homie... root works the same if you're the attacker or the defender. In any of those ability descriptions, does it say defender or opponent?

All roots can be removed by a special. But currently when using Zemo on attack, the defenders are special locked for sp1 and sp2. They used to be special locked for all specials but they now specifically fixed only the sp3. This is right before the sp2 root.
This is right after, note there is no icon for a special lock but the special bar is white and WS can't throw his special
As far as I can tell this is not listed anywhere in Zemo's abilities, but since they just changed it to only work on sp1 and sp2 I am assuming ( I know assumptions are bad) that this is the intended behavior.
And it makes sense to me, being able to infinitely lock something, be it a stun debuff, special lock, or invisibility just to note some that have been changed in the recent past, is relatively bad for the game. But it should be written in his abilities and should have been in the patch notes for sure.
@BitterSteel You're absolutely right, but Silk is the first to where dexterity doesn't even pop up when dashing back, eliminating the possibility of crazy interactions. Remains to be seen though, lol.

Quicksilver and Silk have the same dexterity replacement though. Read their abilities and check what happens when you dex with QS
QS dexing while he has neutralise doesn’t trigger a punishment either.

Not sure what the arguments are about.. It's been a fact since zemo was released that he does special lock in his sp2 root. If it was a bug, and they fixed a bug they should have said what the bug was first before the fix and given players enough time to note that.
If now his he can only special lock when the defender isn't at 3 bars that's fine and sensible but it's still going to be a special lock where they can't throw sp1 or sp2 while under his root.

Call outs are manually added. So it's not necessarily an absolute indicator of the function
It took me less than ten seconds of watching the videos to say to myself "Well, they aren't letting that stay in the game..."
Kabam haven't changed Zemo, and they haven't changed Root. They've changed the behaviour of AI when a defender is Rooted.
If it wasn't blindingly obvious to you that infinitely Root-Locking and killing virtually any opponent in the game was an Exploit, then that's your short-sightedness, I'm afraid.
The Zemo Lock was never an 'ability' or a 'core mechanic', as the OP states. It was an unintentional Exploit with a predictably limited lifespan.

I’m wrong with what?🤔 i say how roots work, he show it.
Got Hyperion to an SP3 and he threw it to get out of the root. He stayed special locked until he hit three bars. Where is this mechanic spelled out? Defenders appear to be special locked for Sp1/2 while rooted but not for Sp3, at least for Kraven.
1.5 years since the roots mechanic was added to the game. All players know that the enemies are under the roots, do not use special attacks and use only heavy hits. This was not written anywhere, but the roots worked this way for 1.5 years. After the last update, opponents under the roots began to use sp3. I don't know if this is a fix or another bug. Because Kabam are not talk about it anywhere. Not even a word about it in the patch note update. But if it's a fix let's call it a nerf. Because the core mechanics of a champion like Baron Zemo is broken. For 6 months, Baron Zemo was able to block the special attacks of opponents under the roots, but now he cannot. It's definitely a nerf. If it's not a mistake, Kabam must apologize to the players and give out rank down tickets.
i can confirm this. even made two vids on yt with kraven and zemo. kabam need to address this asap.

Some folks are saying to read the kit but I don’t see this mentioned in his. Did they change root/power lock across the board or just for Zemo?
When I have more time I’ll try to push someone to 3 bars while rooted and see what happens but I’m curious if anyone else has actually tested it yet.
I don’t think it’s true that this mechanic works exactly the same for attackers and defenders based on my experience with it on both sides.
