First off want to say I have not been banned I did not see the mythic crystals until after Rich the kids video, but I will say it’s completely ridiculous that this companies laziness and incompetence when releasing a side event can now get you and your account banned for just playing. This from an outside prospective might be the scummiest move I have ever seen a company do these players are getting punished and possibly losing accounts they spent hundreds of dollars on bc some stupid intern made it crystals instead of shards. I have an Idea maybe fix the incompetency in your company before blaming the player base and quite literally running some people’s accounts forever just another one of kanaka braindead moves that have gone against the player base over the last year

Kabam messed up yes, it sucks, and I hope it’s learnt from and never happens again. But taking advantage of that in an egregious way is against the terms of service you agree to by playing. Exploiting bugs for personal gain is silly, and bannable.
Kabam is not blaming “the playerbase” they are saying yes we messed up, that’s not ok, but you trying to exploit this mess up is also not ok. Their mistake does not excuse anyone from cheating and exploiting.
also why call him rich the kid you got an issue with the guy or something
The dude’s bitter… let him vent. Just sorry it had to be taken out on poor Mr. Rich. 😬
They’re not punishing anyone for the bug existing, they’re punishing people for exploiting it.
The same way you don’t get in legal trouble if a bank accidentally deposited you $1m instead of a dollar. But if you try to spend it you’re in trouble.
This negates your argument completely.
It was obvious it was a mistake and so I reported it.
Anyone that was in the position to claim those crystals has been playing long enough to know, for a fact, it was not intended to be full crystals, never mind THAT many of them.
If you knowingly exploit the game then you get what you deserve.
NOBODY was forced to claim and open them, it was a choice, the same as any cheating is.
Is all this hypothetical what is being discussed here?
If it's their mistake and it's not an intentionally reoccurring glitch the loss is minimal at their end. They can't undupe or take away champs, i don't remember they doing it recently. Current SQ glitch at day 1 is minimal loss for Kabam and completely their mistake. One was not able to get to the boss if they didn't teleport to lanes.
Also those who couldn't do early glitchy events often tell to ban who could or punish them. It doesn't make them punishable, they didn't intentionally do it and it happened because of Kabam. Don't wish bad for others if you didn't get the good. And if they have it, let them keep it *T&C apply.
Best thing is to take away rewards over banning. Banning is for hacks/cheats not for offers/rewards/events put officially in game by Kabam themselves.
Also we ban people to prevent them temporarily or permanently from doing whatever wrong they did, in this case SQ is already fixed, so no point of banning, player can't repeat the glitch again.
And that less as a punishment, and more because cleaning up those accounts will take a lot of effort, and would only be harder if they were romping through BGs, EoP , the Gauntlet etc with their multiple new high-end champions.
This is more like a person getting a moped from a dealership which turns out to be a Bugatti; starting to burn rubber around the parking lot, and then having the Bugatti taken off them before they kill themselves.
They can get the moped back in a few days.
And anyone that has reached Cav level would have a clear understanding that 1250 full crystals has never been and will never be a legitimate reward.
Where I work, we make deliveries. We've made deliveries to peoples homes that weren't the intended designation because there was an error from the salesperson not changing the delivery address. By your logic, that person is allowed to keep that delivery of furniture or appliances. But, you are wrong as it's against the law.
Kabam specifically has a clause in the ToS that addresses these types of situations. The scummy part is you thinking the players that exploited the bug, have no responsibility. You're part of the problem.
