I tested logging in before and after upgrading to 16.6 this morning (iPhone XR) and the game still loads and logs in ok for me after the update. Hopefully it gets fixed for you all soon.
Update: I did nothing but tried to login again at work using workplace wifi. Success! On a business trip in India - just got back to my hotel n tried to find play using hotel wifi but couldn’t login again. Switched to mobile data roaming n it failed too. I’m using an iPhone 13. Problem only started after iOS 16.6 update so it likely has something to do with it and the network I’m connected to.

Same issue also for me.
Yesterday I’ve updated to iOS16.6, and this morning couldn’t login to the game.
UPDATE
:Disabling game center of ios, delete app, restart your iphone, reinstall app, then login with kabam account it works correctly (at least for me).
Just delete and restart isn’t enough. You habe to disable Gamecenter
