Is shang chi worth R4 over other champions?

I currently have a Shang Chi at R3, and i’m loving him. I have everything i need to R4 him but i’m not sure as i have other options, namely: absorbing man, Knull, iDoom, Peni Parker, Wong.

I know he’s a better attacker than all of the alternatives, however my defensive roster is still stuck on R3s, it would be good to get Knull, Abs Man or Peni up for both war and battlegrounds.

i have seen some of the best using him. His utility and damage are absolutely incredible, however is he worth more than the defensive utility for a mode like battlegrounds?

    If u desperately need defensive update, then go with Absorbingman....but only if he is duped & high sig
    If not high sig then Peni is ur best defensive pick

    If u can put defense on hold for a while then ShangChi is worth R4

    If u wanna focus on BGs, I'd probably hold on ShangChi for a while

    He's worth it, he's worth it for BGs too

    Abs can also be an absolute monster on offense, don't sleep on him

    If its defense that you're lacking in, I highly recommend Abs or Knull as an alternative for Shang. While Shang is an extremely solid champion, defense-wise, he is utterly useless. Absorbing Man just needs medium sig to be effective, and Knull can just tear through the opponent after they are corrupted. Peni is also a solid rank up, being useful in both offense and defense. as long as you don't have Herc, Peni can't be easily countered.

    Yes. I suggest taking Chi to R4. If you haven't done 8.2 yet, he's gonna make it a lot easier, especially Bahamet
