Expiration countdown when nothing expiring

Multiple times this week, my inventory has shown RED with an expiration countdown clock, but when I click on it, the inventory and excess inventory showed 2 days as the earliest expiration. I tried selling more items (even though plenty of time left before expiring) and reloading, but no luck in changing the clock.
Are things expiring that we can no longer see? Are some of the items getting lost or hidden?
