Last ditch effort to help Kabam avoid what could easily be the worst event we’ve had in the games history thus far.
Let’s start with the fact that ever since we heard the announcement we were under the impression we would all be able to acquire the 7* Civil Warrior (and/or crystal) as thats how the description of the event seemed. However, little did we know the 10 day event aimed at acquiring such reward would surmount to being tedious and grindy.
Sure, some people managed to get by without spending, but this was at the cost of spending units for energy refills, hoarding kills in AQ (that other teammates could have gotten). I’m sure this isn’t what Kabam intended, especially when you consider the fact that the BGs objectives gave 50 points for a fraction of the effort that these “hardcore f2p players” put. In order to have gotten the last milestone, you had to have been on top of your game and constantly doing as many AQ fights, the event was too unforgiving to let you do so in the midst of it.
Moving on to the trade in store, I’ll give credit for the sig stone and 7* crystal offer. These were good. Some even liked the gold ones. However, almost everything else was a flat out unit sink. And the worst part? These transactions hardly even added to the points in the event. At the very least, if someones going to drop 1,111 for a useless trophy champion thats not even a 6* , why would you give only 40 points? That just screams how little thought was put into the event.
Let’s elaborate on that last point of little thought put in even more. Avid player of BGs? Odds are you would have done your objectives the day they release. Without even taking this into consideration Kabam released the event on a day following these objectives, meaning 90% of us lost what could’ve been an easy 200 points.
I was curious to see if I had a chance at getting the final milestone so i did a calculation today.
Yes, thats right, I present a “worst case” scenario, because if it wasnt for that 200 points from the mistimed BGs, I would’ve been at the final milestone (loyalty selector wasnt included in calculation).
I’m sure theres a lot just like me that were very close to attaining the final milestone and will have to either just suck it up or spend a ridiculous $70 to be able to make up for the points, which is far overpriced for a 7* . Not to mention how bad the $ offers are.
Regardless what’s done is done, and what matters here is that there’s still 1 final update left for this event.
So how are the 2 best ways Kabam can turn this event around?
1) aside from the loyalty bundle which gives a nice chunk of points , add some additional items to the store that one can trade in such as solo crystal shards, sig stones, lower rarity gems etc etc. it doesn’t have to be anything too crazy
2) From the additional added items, add these trade ins to the Caps Comissary event so that those of us that aren’t too far off their next milestone can have a fighting chance.
If i listed the option of “Extending the event”, we all know most would feel that Kabam wouldn’t do this (though it would give a chance to be able to increase ones points), but since this is most likely not possible, then option 2 is the next best thing. This could also address the concerns those had about the 200 point loss from BGs, of which I’ve seen several posts brought up.
At the end of the day, we need to remember that this is just a game, and if one has to do a math algorithm /intense grind or spend lucratively to obtain the reward from the final milestone of an event that was advertised as just “putting a bit of effort” in the email to obtain, that something is wrong.

We need to do a better job of making our goals more obvious in the future and have taken a lot of feedback from players for the next iteration, but we are not making any changes to the current event.
