Would a new account pulling a 7* be good or bad for the account and player?

Recently we had the Legends Crystals which had a (low) chance of pulling a 7* champion for ANYONE, not progression-tied.

So here's my question - if a very new account (we're talking still hyped for a 3* new) were to get super lucky and pull one of those 7* Selectors, would it ultimately be good or bad for the account, and the player?

Here are the arguments as I see them, please by all means add to them:

Good:
  • Progression: with any 7* the player will rocket through a huge amount of content easily and not get caught up in some silly fights relatively early on
  • By not hanging out for some great pull early on any longer, the player can just sit back and rock through the game, just enjoying it.
  • The champion they pull will be of great use to them for an incredibly long time - polls and discussions here have indicated that there's reason to do great with all 6 of the champs you could've got from the selector at a Thronebreaker and Paragon level, let along way back in the early act
Bad:
  • Monotony: You'll have literally no reason to use any other champ than the one you pull for virtually everything, so the entire game will become that one champ for a VERY long time. Combine with how easily you'll dispatch most of the fights, it will become just plain boring
  • Cost: It will actually cost a new account a HUGE amount of ISO and gold to level up the champion. Now, sure, you don't NEED to rank them up...but really, who's going to leave them under-levelled? They'll devote all their resources to that champion and neglet the rest of their roster
  • Because they'll be able to just ROFLstomp through the game with their shiny 7* champion, the player won't have to LEARN how to play the game. They won't learn parrying, intercepts, dexterity, changing up your combos, learning the champion abilities, reading the nodes...they won't need to. They'll just enter every fight, screen-mash, and win. Then when they're faced with really harder nodes/fights, they won't know what to do. We've seen it all over the forums, accounts getting to Act 5 because they were gifted high-level champs and then don't know how to handle Buffet or Masochism nodes etc.
I'm sure there's more, but let's discuss!

I vote both. Mainly it’s going to depend on the player and primarily their attitude. It could go either way depending on their approach.

Yeah, it would be bad. I'm in a FB MCOC community where a lot of new players have 6* early on and are getting hung up on really easy fights if you know basics of what you're doing. My first question to them is have you even unlocked parrying yet and I get a lot of surprising nos...

For most players it will be bad since they won't develop the skills to tackle ACT 6 and above. They will come post on the forum that Kabam needs to nerf ACT 6 since it's so hard to play. Also if the game is too easy, players will get bored of it really quick;ly and quit the game. They wouldn't know that reading the nodes is very important since they can just brute force there way through the early content. Once they hit the wall of ACT 6 and realize they can't just smash buttons and win, they will complain on the forum. We don't need more post about nerfing any monthly, side or story contents.

This is exactly what I think is the problem as well. It would be good for new players to not be able to use anything above 5*'s through act 5.

I agree, if its an already skilled player, than its a good thing. If its a mid to bad player, then there's no challenge to get better. I personally wouldn't have been mad if i had a great champ like that when i was beginning, but I'm now very glad i didn't

Good for my 4th account, bad for a brand new player.
