Disappointed with act 8.3

First of all this is about the number of paths and not the rewards. (Rewards are the best for any act content ever made)
Since the inception of act 6.3 four years ago, we are following the 6 paths per quest model for Story content. I never seen a single person complaining about 6 paths or the story content being exhausting in terms of paths.
Now Kabam suddenly shifted to 3 paths per quest which means, if you start doing one path per day since it's launch in Oct 18, you'll completely explore it even before next month side quest. Honestly where is the fun?
Honestly, Story content is the only fun and challenging quest in the game. Variants became history, and Everest content was never fun and just time consuming, monthly quests are easy to be inclusive for everyone (understandable), and bgs are disliked by a lot of players, and already act 8.1 and 8.2 weren't that tough. You can easily explore most paths in 8.2 without a 6* r4 or 7*s, and both 8.1 and 8.2 didn't seem much of a challenge.
While the only entertaining content in the game is story mode, They are now reducing it to half of what it used to be. Kabam says they are going to focus more on the design, well they can create good nodes and enjoyable fights even with 6 paths per quest (for instace 8.1 and 7.3 were fun and not too hard). This is one of the unnecessary take from kabam.
Also I couldn't find the details about path rewards, Already we have insane rewards for this small piece of content, I doubt that they could cripple down the path rewards.
What you think about the 3 path per quest model?
P.s. Pardon my bad English

I prefer them focusing on design over length honestly. There are some paths in Act 7 and 8 that just feel there to fill space, they aren't new or interesting and they're just kind of an extra slog for exploration. Now that they're halving paths, they can double the time spent on each one, making it more unique, more fun, and all around better

Yes the paths maybe more fun and unique, but the fun is going to be shortlived with this change.

It's very much twofold for me. I love Story content, especially the later ones, some of the most fun node combos in the game and wouldn't mind having more of it.
But on the other side, this'll allow me to get those amazing juicy rewards faster than ever before which is something I like.

I just hope that with this change the quality of the paths will all be great instead of the previous acts where some paths are less fun/interactive

Yes the rewards are insane, that too for this small quest

I basically viewed 8.3 as a weird Paragon EQ, which made it fairly enjoyable.

I'm not opposed to this change if it means we'll get the different chapters more regularly. I would much rather get one chapter of the new size every three months as opposed to one chapter of the old size every six months. I just think that the current cadence is something that needs to change because everything feels so disjointed at the moment. If you're at all invested in the story, good luck remembering what the fudge is going on whenever a new piece of Story content drops. In terms of rewards, we're jumping from 6r4 gems in the last chapter directly to 7r2 gems in the upcoming one, skipping an entire step inbetween simply because the game progressed past it between releases. (I'm obviously not saying r5 gems/resources aren't worth it anymore, just that they aren't the big-ticket reward in any Story content.)

So hopefully we get more regular story content moving forward. As much as I love Battlegrounds and think it genuinely saved the game, I also really love Story content and ranking up champions specifically for that. It's been 6+ months since I made a rank-up decision that didn't focus on BG. That's fun and all but it tends to lead to everyone at the top having basically the same deck/ranking up the same champions since there are very clear meta champions there. With no other challenges in the game, be it Story or something like a new EOP, there has been no need for anyone to rank up champions who are not BG-focused. I think that's bad for the game in the long run.

Your idea is ridiculous. Those who have a lot of time should play the same episode twice, I don't have that much time.

Yeah, 8.2 felt like two paths per quest were just slapped together from monthly EQ. I don’t have hard data on that. I’m saying that’s how it felt. Maybe it wasn’t that much, or maybe some felt rehashed from 8.1 or 8.2. I dunno.

I have been impressed with all their work after act 7 so I’ll trust the team.

Love the idea of only 3 paths, as it is now it's boring.

"Honestly, Story content is the only fun and challenging quest in the game."

This is one of the most wild takes I've seen in forums for a while. I get that you may feel this at a personal level, and others might agree, but this is by definition an opinion. Thus, next time, add "for me" or "for a lot of summoners" at the end of that sentence.

Also, no. Respectfully, no. Maybe you have heard this echoed back at you, but let me voice the opinions that I have heard most from the community. Many people enjoy BG's the most in the game, quite a few focus on AW and enjoy it the most, a significant portion of the population likes specific Everest content like EOP and Gauntlet far more than Story quest. Really, the only people that I have heard like story quest most have only said so because they thought it had the best rewards. I happen to think that it *can* be *some* of the most fun content in game, typically factoring in the above-average rewards. But there are many other fun and enjoyable ways to play the game.

Let me sum up your main point (as it comes across): less paths (or quicker exploration) = guaranteed less fun. Did you play the beta test? Can you guarantee that them reducing the paths did not allow them to more than double the difficulty/intentionality/enjoyment found in each fight? "Also I couldn't find the details about path rewards, Already we have insane rewards for this small piece of content, I doubt that they could cripple down the path rewards." They could easily just double up the rewards for each path, instead of breaking 2k shards into two drops of 1k shards (or the equivalent, or even utilize chests with multiple rewards). To be honest, the path rewards personally tend to pale in comparison to the comp/exp rewards anyways, so I wouldn't complain.

Overall, sure, you're allowed to be dissappointed. You may be in the minority though.

Also, your English was actually pretty good. I know many people on forums to have used it much worse that probably only speak English.
