Probably as the community calls it - A silent nerf.

But in seriousness the hp difference would probably a decimal difference which is rounded so you can't see it which would give his points a decimal more which you also can't see

obviously in a tie breaker situation they go with the highest HP over the quickest time.

    That's clearly a silent nerf.

Duration points fall on exact whole number of points (by math, based on fights being timed in whole seconds, total possible pts for duration category, and max # of seconds for fight).

But “HP remaining” points can be calculated out to fractional points, which is what is used when comparing who won/lost.

If it comes out to xxx.9 for someone in an apparent tie situation, they will lose.
If it comes out to xxx.1 instead, they will win.

I’ve seen it happened before and they just leave it as a tie

Usually when I see ties (or had them myself) its 100% HP remaining and same time for each fight, thus a true tie.

As someone else mentioned, it's likely due to rounding.

When the score is literally a tie, because the two point totals are exactly identical, the match is a tie.

However, when the two point totals are not exactly identical the higher point total wins, even if the point totals appear to be the same due to rounding. 47469.3 beats 47469.2, even if both appear to be 47469.
